Marcia, don't have a clue on the spooner, but if you really feel it is a Heisy, the museum can ID it for you.

Off Topic, re: some of your other auctions-

Your Sabin plate is typically called George and Martha , aka Washington. I would also put Sabin in the title. They are a popular collectable.

and you might want to check these out. I worked in an import store in 1978 and owned one of these. They are even cheaper now than when I bought mine with an employee discount!

Spooner??? Looks like a beer pitcher to me.

Most likely a vase with a bottom like that and the fluted top edge.

Hi EstateSaleStuff

The closest pattern I can find to it is called Diamond Zipper. There is a piece here with a similar pattern which you can see better if you click to enlarge the pic.

Kiara, that was what I was thinking. "Cushioned" or "pillow" zipper, but I couldn't find anything like it.

I do think it is a spooner though and not a vase. Many people mistake spooners for vases.
size is the key.

Hi ltray

Some list them as a celery also. Hopefully Max will stop by and impart his wisdom.

Gosh, thanx everyone for your input thus far ... I had also posted the same question mid-morning today, on the Glass/Porcelain board at ebay, just in case some of their experts knew... then we went to an estate auction, got home, checked my email and found two 'pink slaps' from 2 of their board moderators, stating I am not allowed to post that kind of a question on their board, when the subject matter is 'attached' to an active auction listing ... yikes! sorry, i didn't know ... all i did was ask if anyone knew the maker and/or pattern name, (just like I asked here) .... glad YOU all are a lot nicer!!!

I think I'll just stay right here, thank you! lol

p.s. Yes, I think it's a spooner too, although I feel spooners are usually closer to 5" tall and this is 6", so maybe it is a type of upright celery .. maybe Max is out buying old glass this weekend. LOL

Sorry it took so long to reply, but it doesn't matter anyway. I have no idea what the pattern name is. I looked thru my pattern/pressed glass books and came up with nothing. I HATE PATTERN/PRESSED GLASS. Way too difficult to identify.

you're right Kiara; this looks very similar to the picture you found, except for the indentation down center of each diamond ... I like that 'cushioned' or 'quilted' zipper idea too ...

thanks everyone ... we can all now start our Thursday evening merriments. ... 4:50pm in Ohio ... Miller time.
