I'm having problems getting my buyers to use the vendio checkout. They just refuse. I must send them an invoice through ebay before they will pay. Most people win multiple items, so the combining is so much easier with vendio. I send out the WBN and maybe 1 or 2 will respond to it. I wait a day or two & then send the invoice through ebay and what do you know they accept that one & pay.
Am I doing something wrong? Or do buyers just like the ebay system better?

About 2 years ago, I used a 3rd-party check-out system & my experience was:
1) A full 50% of my buyers just plain refused to do it!
2) Of those who did -- virtually ALL complained to me about it!
3) When I rarely buy sumptin on feeBay, and I am forced to suffer through pages of garbage forms, only in the end to be then sent to PayPal anyway, get expremely PO'd at the seller!
4) Pigs would fly over the White Clifts of Dover, singing "We'll meet again some sunny day" before I'd ever use a 3rd-party check-out system again...
So sayeth Mr Ralph ~ and thus, let it be SO!

I won't use any checkout and will not bid on items that require it.
For my customers who buy more than one item, I simply pop into Ebay and check off all the items to combine them, enter a new shipping total and send them the invoice.
It may take me a few extra steps for me, but it is nothing compared to what the buyer has to do to fill in all the junk on 3rd party forms.
Plus, I might make a typo if I fill out Vendio or MW or other checkouts. Paypal and Ebay already have my shipping info. As a buyer I just have to click "pay now" and I'm done.
Edited to add that I use auctionwatchsoftware.com to track all my payments and my shipments. They pull addresses straight from Ebay, I send an email requesting any changes necessary, and when they pay I click them off my list on AS and send the shipped notice.
They also have a Paypal processor that pulls in all paypal payments and changes any addresses to confirmed ones. If someone wants an item shipped elsewhere their notes from the Paypal page are entered into the notes section of the invoice and I can respond when I send the emails.
I use Vendio for my second selling ID, but I still use AS to process all payments. I couldn't get by without it.

I use the Vendio checkout and don't have any problems. Every once in a while someone will complain, but not very often.
The only "junk" you have to fill out is your name and address. I don't understand when someone talks about all the info required by a checkout.
I mainly use the checkout because I accept credit cards. I have as many people use their CC as I do PayPal.

I have never gotten complaints about the check out until 2 weeks ago. They are having trouble adjusting the combined shipping.
Besides that problem the BIGHGER ISSUE is that I am getting notices that when they pay through Vendio / PayPal they get a choice to pay me at MAILSTOP.com. I do not have any such address.
But I do get a notice from PP that I have a payment because they are using my email of record and need me to open an account to retrieve the money at the mailstop.com address.
I called PP right away and they said the problem was generated by Vendio. Is this happening to anyone else??? Louise

as a buyer, i won't use vendio's checkout either. the times i've tried to use it, it's quite time consuming to fill out all the information, and half the time, it didn't work. i prefer to just click on "pay now" for sellers who take PayPal. light years faster.

I too do not understand why people refuse to complete the Checkout Form. Maybe they think their names/addresses are going into some marketing list or something. Who knows!? What bugs me is, like any other business on the internet, businesses all have certain forms or steps you must go through in order to process your order. Why should a business selling on eBay be anything else? We sell on eBay just like any other business (although some are far from professional) so why should they object to following a sellers terms? I guess it's simple - because they don't have to!

"it's quite time consuming to fill out all the information"
Please tell me what information you have to fill in besides your name and address one time. If that is what it is you don't like, just say so. The way you are putting it customers have to fill out a book on their life history.
And for all of you who won't bid on an auction with a checkout, you might be missing out on some good items for nothing. On most checkouts, you can pay with PayPal and all the information is transferred to the checkout. If you say it is because you don't know the shipping that is another discussion.

It's a shame, but in these times of id theft etc, buyers (me too) are very wary of giving information to a third party. It isn't a matter of laziness, it's a matter of need to know. Vendio doesn't NEED my address - PayPal has my address and has verified it. Vendio in fact imports the address from PayPal - the whole Vendio checkout just seems so unnecessary and just one more thing that COULD chase buyers away. I won't sign in to PayPal through a Vendio redirect (or anybody's redirect for that matter)- and I KNOW Vendio to be a trustworthy company.

I see your point. But, if you don't go through the checkout, I will then fill it in for you for my records. Vendio then has your address. If you pay with PayPal, Vendio has your address.
When someone in California or a another country buys from me at a reasonable hour there, it is late night here. I have to be at work the next morning at 7:30. Therefore, they will have to wait until I get home after 5 and go through my e-mail to get a "personal" WBN from me. Sometimes that is close to a 24 hour wait. With the checkout, I am collecting the money while I'm still asleep. 99% of them think my WBN is "personal". The orders are combined, the shipping adjusted and the WBN is sent. If they pay the Payment Received notice is sent. Most customers would rather fill in their name and address one time than have to wait.
And I use the time I save putting together packages and listing more items.
And like I said, I take credit cards. Very few people want to send their CC info in an e-mail. It would cost too much and take too much time for me to call all these people to get the info.
Vendio has also said they are working on the checkout so that customers can create an account with the seller. That way repeat customers can sign in and not have to type in their info again.

Where, how did you set up in vendio that customers could enter their credit card information? I have been looking for that option.

Yo! Toots!
Here's da problemo with 3rd-party CO's:
They make ya fill out page-after-page of obvious ifo...ONLY to then direct you to NOW, PLEASE PAY AT PAYPAL -- well, "No poop, Sherlock" WHY did I just have to fill in all that garbage for you to begin with, if yer just gonna send me to PayPal, where I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN???!!!
Take Uncle Tommy's & Cousin Ralphie's word for it -- Tis MUCHO aggravating...
OTOH: I donna know much about yer VD...BUT, all the other ones I've ever used have me chewing the carpet, cursing the fates to the point where poor ole Ralphie takes refuge in his CASTLE (da cage!)
PS: btw~thanks fur da BD greetings! I can't believe me liddle-boy is an adult-doggy so soon!

gtootie - I wasn't criticizing you for using the check-out! i was just trying to explain why some buyers don't want to use it. I completely understand why you use it. I know that Vendio has access to all the addresses anyway, but buyers don't know that. Maybe it will be better when Vendio does get the checkout revised.

I used VD checkout for my auctions until I was on the other end as a buyer. Once I had to fill in the info that was duplicated in PP, I realized why my buyers were whining. I haven't used VD checkout in over 2 years now.
Think of it this way... we already know buyers won't wait for large picture files to download, what makes you think they will tolerate clicking a "few" more pages?
We live in a "I want it NOW and I want it MY way" society. If you want to cater to them, you might want to consider that in the equation.
With that said, I do wish Ebay would install a quick-link for printing customized packing slips!

I bought an item that required a Vendio check out a while back. I filled in several pages over and over before I gave up and wrote the seller and we finished the sale on PayPal. It just would not work for my computer operating system and browser. Any 3rd party check out I have had any experience with has always been a pain.

This is what I don't understand. I have gone in and filled in the checkout for customers. I even bought an item out of my Vendio Store to see what you are talking about. The only thing you have to fill in is your name and address one time. Unless you are paying with your credit card, then you have to give the number.
The only answer I can get is "pages and pages of info" What did it ask you for? Please tell me. If it ask for more than that I want to know. I don't want to know anything more from my customers and I don't want the checkout to ask for more.
Tom
You are welcome. I hope Ralphie liked it.
I haven't used too many checkouts, but I don't have problems with my customers about Vendio. I also have a shipping calculator in my auctions. Customers can use it and go directly to PayPal and bypass the checkout. PayPal sends over the info, so I wouldn't know either way.
I do buy my padded envelopes off eBay and the seller has the most aggravating system I have ever seen. I hate it, but he also has the cheapest and best quality envelopes I have found. He is also fast. So, I use his system.

I just happen to use Verisign. Had it before I signed up for Vendio. That is the only one that will work with Vendio. You set it up in your payment options.

Most of my buyers fill out the Vendio checkout. but, I do ask nicely and state in my WBN that it's optional. Also, I'm one of those paranoid dinosaurs who doesn't take paypal. So maybe the people who don't mind paying by check or money order are the more patient types?

Hummm, Just for the record i too have 98% ppl who don't want to fill in the Vendio checkout, and that has been eversince Vendio started their service and WBN and checkout....But now Paypal imports the information into Vendio for me or vise versa and I state that if not paying with Paypal please fill in the Vendio checkout so as to be assured of correct shipping information, saying I sometimes can't read their writing on mailed in payments. I use to get gripes from customers but that has stopped since putting in the above information.. I just wish Vendio would put an option to remove people from the checkout process that didn't check out and has paid but is still listed in waiting for checkout. POOR me has to go to their page and put the check mark into box I have to click an extra link. LOL just kidding. I Use Vendio but some steps are not necessary for me but that is just me. It is great to keep up with who has paid or what is need next.
Ebay is making it easier also for keeping up with things so it is a toss up but can't beat image hosting here at Vendio in my opinion and the listing process is snap with their SMP. Just my 2 cents worth.

Make me use that dammed checkout and it will automatically force me to issue a negative feedback. It is time for sellers to actually give service. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
