Phishing Alert for eBay and Vendio
X00379
We were recently notified that one or more individuals may have increased their sophistication in their attempts to access eBay and Vendio account information by calling and representing themselves as Vendio employees. We are in the process of confirming this report, but we wanted to announce a quick reminder.
NEVER GIVE SENSITIVE ACCOUNT INFORMATION TO ANYONE, ESPECIALLY OVER THE PHONE. PLEASE NOTE VENDIO WILL NEVER CALL TO REQUEST PASSWORD RELATED INFORMATION UNLESS YOU FIRST REQUESTED THE CALL. IF YOU RECEIVE A CALL FROM SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE FROM VENDIO AND REQUESTING PASSWORD INFORMATION, YELL AT THEM BRIEFLY, HANG UP, AND SEND AN E-MAIL TO LET US KNOW YOU WERE CONTACTED.
Please note that we WILL be sending information soon to those with expiring eBay third party authorization "tokens" that provides instructions on updating your eBay tokens by logging in to eBay through the Vendio site. We will not include links in these e-mails, and the process is only available to you after logging into the Vendio site first. On the off chance someone attempts to replicate one or more Vendio pages, you may desire to surf the Vendio site a while to ensure your content appears as you would normally see it (the individual specific information that would be very difficult to replicate) prior to going to the eBay account update pages. Thank you, and we apologize the world isn't as nice as we generally wish it were.
