Has anyone tried to search their completed auctions under the function of "eBay search items by seller". I tried bringing up my completed auctions and all I get is sellers with my user name and the user names similiar to mine. It does not bring up completed auctions. Is that something new so that nobody can check your closed auctions?

I think they just implemented this "enhancement". The list will appear, and a "view listings" or some such button will appear next to the top match.
What a PITA! This could be a helpful OPTION for when you can't recall a seller's exact name, but just adds another step if you do know.

Hi Libra ... yah, that's NEW like as of this morning! ... I did the same thing on bringing up closed auctions of other sellers names that i know of, and first this list came up showing "exact match" of ebay ID name, then it gave list of options of ebay seller ID's that were "similar" to the name I was goin' after. ... weirddd .... but i DID go ahead and click on the guy I was after, and his ended auctions came up.

I've noticed that too Libra. So what I've been doing is first go to the sellers current auction (I always pull up my own - that I've bookmarked - to see what is selling and then change the sellers name if I want to look at another seller's stuff), then check off the "completed" box and it will come up.
I don't know what this new thing is with the Advanced Search function, but I'm not looking for similar seller names if I've typed in the exact name. Maybe this is one of eBay's cross-promotion things where they think it will make buyers look at other sellers auctions.

I can't get any auctions or start pages for any user ID's. I see there is a place way on the left that says sellers auctions but there is no button there. What a pain to go into my ebay all the time. Well I wrote them an email and asked them what was up since I couldn't access any auctions on eBay.

BTW when I click on a sellers ID all I get is their feedback page. Oh dear, if is isn't broke don't fix it.
If buyers can't get into any sellers ID there will be no buying and the sellers will be irate and they have a right to be.

Libra; "...I see there is a place way on the left that says sellers auctions but there is no button there."
libra, way over on the *right* it says, "Seller's Items" as a heading, and underneath that is big button that reads, "view seller's items"

The button is on the far right of the person's ID. This really sucks. When ebay takes a step forward, they take six steps back.

There is no button on the far right on my page.
This is my response from eBay.
"To search items for previous 30 days you can either search by members user ID or Item number"
I cannot do that al, I get is user ID names.
How frustrating.

I cannot even get a sellers current auctions. It might be easy but with the directions they gave me I get nothing but sellers ID's and I really don't care who has a name like mine all I want is my auctions. Well I wrote again hoping that they can solve this problem.
Do you have the feeling that they are getting to complicated for a person to either do auctions or bid on them.
Thanks again for letting me vent.

Right...why is it useful to know close matches?
***Coming Soon: Find a Member Feature Redesign***
Date: 03/07/05 Time: 11:10:19 AM PST
In the next week, we will be making it easier to find other members. The current Find a Member and Find User ID features that let you search by either User ID or email address will be combined into one. If you use an email address, you’ll still need to enter the exact one to find someone. But if you search by User ID, however, you will see a new results page that not only shows the exact match (if there is one), but also up to 15 close matches.
We’ll also show useful information about each member, such as how long they’ve been a member on eBay, and links to their Member Profile. If they have items listed for sale, you’ll also see a link to their Seller’s Other Items page, or, if they have one, to their eBay Store.
"To Find a Member, simply click on the Advanced Search link underneath the Search box in the upper right-hand corner of almost any eBay page."

The long way around but I figured it out.
Click on your user name and will take you to your feedback profile, which will come in handy, then on the right click on your active auctions and it will take you to your auction page. and then bookmark that page.
You can get everything else from that page.
The bidder page works the same as the old way.

I just checked to see what come up. it is weird what they have done. but i did get the closed auctions to come up.
here is how i done it.
first i clicked on ADVANCED SEARCH. then ITEMS BY SELLER. then ENTER SELLERS USER NAME. and also tick INCLUDE COMPLETED LISTINGS. then hit the SEARCH BUTTON.
A new page comes up with a list of sellere that are similar to the one you want. including the exact one you want. this one is listed at the top of the list.
To the far right of the sellers name you will see a button that says VIEW SELLER'S ITEMS. the list of finished auctions and current auctions will come up.

I did a search for my account and it came up with close matches. There was a button on the right to click and it took me to my current auctions plus all that have closed in the last 30 days. When I tried to search for my other account, it came up with matches, but there was no button. I don't have any auctions running on that account now. So apparently, the only way you can see a seller's closed auctions is if he has at least one active auction listed. That would explain why on the list of close matches, some have buttons and some don't.

sparkz i checked a few of the ones without the button to the right. and found that they had not sold or had auctions for some time. in some cases it was years. it would appear that the button only shows up on reasonable active ones.

Weird! I had no idea how many people are using a variation of my "name". And why I couldn't get the original spelling I wanted!

That's correct. I have had auctions close very recently on that account, but there is no way to see them using the method you and I used. I plan to list something on it in a couple of days. Once that auction goes live, the button should show up and I can search the active one and the others that closed in the last 30 days.

I figured out why I didn't see the button is because I didn't have active auctions. But I wasn't trying to find active ones I was trying to find my closed ones. None on my seller ID page had active auctions and the email I got from eBay didn't say anything about it. But Now I have book marked my page again so now I am okay. The reason I look at my closed auctions is that when I package I check the name, auction number and look at the picture so that I don't get the items mixed up. It pays to be safe than sorry.
