Hi, all: I'm refunding a buyer's payment, after he's complained about the quality of the matchbox car I sent him.
He originally paid with a M.O., but I sent a refund plus extra $$ for PayPal's fees to him through PayPal this afternoon. He just e-mailed that he doesn't use PayPal, but in the meantime I've gotten a receipt from PayPal acknowledging my payment. What do I do next? Can I cancel this refund through PayPal and send his refund with a check or m.o.? Never had this happen before.

I state in my Auctions that ANY & ALL refunds if warranted will be through PayPal ONLY!
I refunded once and the recipient informed me he was not signed up for PayPal.
I told him: Oh Well! If and when you want it,it will be waiting for you.
Took him almost 2 weeks, but he signed up and took his refund.

Thanks, dad! Right before you sent your message here, I went into PayPal and discovered it's easy to cancel a payment so I did that. Now I know how to do it. I'm going to send this guy a money order tomorrow just to get him off my case. I'm glad this sort of thing doesn't happen very often. Now I'll wait to see if he negs me. Dang.

It was rewarding!
They want you to change your TOS for them.
They want you to change your payment options for them.
They want you to change your shipping for them.
But:
This time I had him, by his wallet.
If he wanted his money back, there was only one way to get it!
The Way I Said They Would Get It Back!
Take it or leave it!

Wow,
What a stupid refund condition. PayPal only is got to be the dumbest term I have ever heard. Send the check and move on.
