How would you package these? Are there mailers or are bubble envelopes enough?

Thanks, Louise

Thanks. I've moved on to the records. There are at least 120 of 'em. That's a he--ava lot of pizza. Love the USPS box idea.

Dad, what size and configuration is the 1096? I have a 1097 here but don't see a number on the slightly smaller size. It's a rectangular flat box that I have.

I've always gotten new pizza boxes from the pizza joint in town for about 35 - 40 cents. These are very sturdy and protective.

Road:
It appears I was Wrong on the #,1096 is like a VHS box.

1097 may be the right # I don't have any right now.
1095 are the same only bigger.

When I sell records or albums I just slip them in and tape shut.

Dad: So you slip them in (with tissue or not?) and tape the flattened box shut? And they don't break in shipping? Do you pad the box further or send as is? And they go priority then instead of media mail, for more expense? Just curious. I need to learn from The Master.

I just wrap them in a paper towel.
Record or album I treat them the same.
Nothing extra.
Never had a complaint yet.

Dad: I'm amazed. I suppose, though, that the boxes, flattened, are very strong. One last question: do your buyers complain about the higher shipping costs with priority instead of media mail for records?

EVERYTHING I ship is Priority.
Prices are fixed, and stated in auction.
No one ever complained about records.
I have sold some books where the customer tried to talk me down, even gotten a Neg because I wouldn't change to kiss their Butt.
The way I look at it, if they don't like my prices or methods Don't Bid!

Thanks. So. . . my *very* last question--can you give me an idea what the traffic will bear in shipping a record via priority? Do you charge a handling fee or straight $3.85? (I'm assuming it isn't over a pound.) If answering this would give away too much, feel free not to.

Thanks, Dad! $4.50 seems very reasonable. As always, I appreciate your advice.

I take a medium size box and unfold it and put the record inside and seal with tape around the edges. I send it $1.85 media mail. And they will bid if they want that record.

Matt Monro

From the 70's. Easy listening stuff. He started under another name doing Frank Sinatra and then came into his own. Biggest hit - My Kind of Girl.
