Does anyone out there know anything about childrens play dishes? These are all glass and apparently two different sents. The green set is missing the lid to the sugar dish and coffee pot. The pastel dishes are larger than the green ones, but not by much. The coin the photo is a silver dollar. I should have used a quarter for scale. Thanks for any help.

Try searching "moderntone child*" without the " ... there are many different types of children's dishes that look similar. Some sell very well and others just ok.

Thanks Deltim! The pastel ones are Moderntone. I searched ebay for quite awhile and couldn't find them. Now if I can find the green ones.
Thanks again.

Green ones are Acro Agate. They made several different styles, and I don't know the pattern names. Might try a book on toys?
Make that Akro Agate.

My mother had a set that looked like the green ones. They were from the Depression Era. I don't know if those are that old. Brings back memories. I used to take her dishes out and play with them (bad, daughter, bad) and also played with her depression era doll house furniture (really, really bad daughter). She has since found out that the doll house furniture is quite valuable. That is, those that weren't broken by her bad daughter. At least her original storybook dolls are still intact.

I have some 1940's (I think) dishes like yours that are still in their retail package. A friend of mine owned a store during the 1930 's - 40's and these belonged to them. Don't want to open them but I know there is atleast 2 sets (2 boxes) Where to sell 'em besides garage sale????

The green dishes are Akro Agate. I would advise to sell the green Akro Agate dishes in a separate ad than the Moderntone. Both should bring a good price on Ebay.

Thanks guys.......you are so smart!
The thing is a friend has ask me check these out and sell them for her if they are worth enough. What do they generally sell for? I would list the two kinds separately.

I really like both sets of dishes you've shown us. At a yard sale 6 months ago, a seller wanted $30 for a set of the colored ones--incomplete settings but about as many as you have in the picture. I declined to buy because I thought they wouldn't get more than that. If you launch these on ebay, please let us know the item number so we can watch (and weep!).
