ok... I'm gonna whisper this so Vendio doesn't hear...

Andale

I was perusing around ebay last night and was impressed by some of the Andale listings...

SO I investigated further...

First off..check out the research function.. isn't that what we have always wanted..?

Go ahead and enter a product you are seling...you will know just about everything you need to know about how and where you need to list etc.

Then I downloaded their Lister Pro, pretty similar to the sales manager.. but if you have ever used Excel, you will fall in love immediately. And the templates set up in about half the time...has a real nice html editor.

Vendio has a better customer management system...which is VERY important, but so does Andale, but Andale doesn't have the auto response option and the program allowing you to select your response based on what is contained in the body of the e-mail like Vendio...

But I called Andale and they "said" they were going to be adding it soon to have what Vendio has.

Very nice customer service...quick answers.

NOW I DO NOT WORK FOR ANDALE!!!

But I think that I speak for alot of us that we want our Ebaying to be profitable, simple and fun too.

At the least I urge you o check out the research function... just simply amazing.

(First 3 are free, then $2.95 per month for unlimited research)

I've heard terrible things about Andale listing services and they are really expensive.

But, I did like the research feature and will probably sign up for it.

On a whim I put in "Gone With the Wind LP" and it came back showing where this lp had been listed, where it was most likely to be successfully sold, what time of day I should list and how many days I should list. Gave stats on all others listed in closed view.

I know we can get basically the same thing by searching closed views, but Andale gives it to you in one neat little package. I don't think it will help with my postcard sales because they are pretty cut and dried, but I will love it for the lps and their 60+ categories to chose from.

Andale is WAY overpriced!

The way you market your items is what counts...and you don't need Andale to do it. Vendio works great for me,but I am not afraid to get off the dead butt either.

Good luck canceling their service once you signed up. I have heard from at least 5 people on boards that I don't even frequent often that they had to close their credit card account and open a new one because Andale wouldn't stop charging for their services even months after the seller had canceled them.

Andale is the worst! I cancelled them and they kept billing me. Then, they were going to send a collection agency after me for $2.50. I told them go right on ahead. Haven't heard from them since. It was a total nightmare!

Even worse than all that... They use (gasp) TELEMARKETERS!

They've called me four or five times over the past couple of years. Offering this and that. Always with a VERY hard to understand accent.

Regardless, if I could afford their service, I wouldn't NEED to list auctions anymore

In part I agree...I used Andale as a back-up to AW/Vendio and they kept billing me long after I had cancelled..I real pain. And yes, they telemarket BUT...the analysis feature for $2.95 is very useful and a bargain.

I used Andale for relisting when ebay was down a few years ago and it seemed I owed them $1.10, well i sent them a check and all they keep doing was shuting me down and saying my account was in collection. I contacted them and told them that they cashed my check a year ago and they still dont let me into my account. I even gave them a new credit card and still the pop up says, no access due to balance due........
I personally will never deal with then in any shape or form ever again............just my experience and my opinion............I agree with ....tomwiii...........

If the research feature is attractive enough to entice customers through the front door, you can bet it will only be a matter of time until Vendio comes up with a similar one with more bells and whistles. Dianne...Are you listening???

That is a good feature about Andale. That was one thing with them, I was on the fence about between them and Vendio. I wish Vendio would come up with something similar.

Andale is a rip-off. I too was billed and billed after constant cancellations I gave them. Sorta like AOL...
If you want a great service that is inexpensive, try Channel Advisor. I only pay $30 flat fee a month, used them for 2 yrs and run about 3000 auctions at all times, plus store items, they have a super inventory function adn you can upload your inventory from an excel spreadsheet. Fast customer service and friendly to boot.
Vendio is fine as well, I used them for a while but wanted something less expensive and fell in love with CA.
Don't even think twice about Andale, they are a bunch of jerks.

I've spent a lot of time researching auction management services. I would recommend Vendio, AuctionWorks, AuctionHawk and SpareDollar for their various strengths and costs, but I would specifically not recommend Andale.

The Research Tool is useful and can purchased for $2.95 a month without endangering your eBay business. The Research Tool has also been buggy and does not provide the timeframe of data Andale promised me at eBay Live.

Yes these bassturd companies are worse than the phony email scammers. Once they get your details they bill you for stuff you never ordered and then you have to waste your time getting them to cancel the billing.
Time Magazine has adopted AOL's billing techniques by sending the magazine using the adddresses from their AOL database.
Just received a bill from Auctiva for crap I never even know existed.
Service Service Description Price

AuctivaPoster Prorate for AUCTIVA_POSTER from 9/19/2003 to 9/30/2003 $3.65

EBud Prorate for AUCTIVA_EBUD from 9/19/2003 to 9/30/2003 $4.39

PROPASS Plan from 10/1/2003 to 10/31/2003 $19.95

* Amounts shown in red are credits to your account. Total Price: $27.99
They won't be getiing a single red penny.

I thought I was alone! I'm a newcomer to Vendio and I came from...you guessed it..Andale.

Andale has a lot of neat features and quite user friendly as well. What it came down to is the pricing. Too expensive for me.

But the worse part is canceling. Oh God, what a nightmare. They charged me another month after I requested to cancel. It came out to about $6. And yes, I am one of those people who decided to cancel my credit card (luckily, I used the one that was about to expire anyway)as a result and just let the $6 go.

I used their online chat help (which is nice) but everytime I ended up with the same guy. Not only was his spelling and punctuation atrocious but he was indifferent and seemed pre-occupied with something. Didn't answer my questions directly and seemed like I was talking to my 14 nephew! heh. That kind of attitude/customer service really turns me off.

I get nervous about subscriptions that force you to email them when you want to cancel. I know Vendio works the same way (there should really be some automated process for this!) but I needed a new auction management system.

Hopefully, Vendio won't give me the same headache.

If you ever want to stop using Vendio, all you need to do it switch to the standard plan (if you on a different one) and then not use it. There is no monthly charge with this plan so they won't bill anything. Then, if you ever want to come back, it is still there for you.
