Anybody check out what's coming in October?
The expanded all over the place media listing tool.
Provides stock professional pictures - stock descriptions - extra information, etc. etc.

Holy Cow!

I wonder how many unhappy people there will be who will receive a box that is not in the condition of that "professional photo".

Kinda takes the personal touch out of selling. Which category will they tackle next?

Although, maybe for sellers like me that sell a little of everything it will make us stand out a little because no part of our auction is provided by someone else.

I agree. The buyer will have to truly beware. I myself would never buy an item with a stock photo, but perhaps it will work with new CDs, books, etc. After all, when we buy from a catalog, it's all stock photos, right?

That is compared to all the sellers which now that do not even have a photo or use a blurry or super dark photo or a photo taken from 30 yards away?

How is this different from buying on Half.com? You always see their picture as well, regardless of the real condition.

Let the neg's start rolling.
For all the buyers who currently can't seem to read:
No PayPal
No Checks
No International Sales
The Shipping & Handling Fees
Or the description of what is included in the auction.
Now they will be expected to read a notice that this is just a stock photo (if that notice is even included on the photo or by the photo and if they know what a stock photo is). If the seller has to put it in their description or terms of service, they don't read those now.
If there is more than one book in an auction can you use 2 stock photo's without being charged for the 2nd photo?

Not Dragonfyree On Ebay.

Have you ever looked at the photos on half that are going to be used? They arte not product shots guys - they are the cover art - that's it - there should be no implication of case condition since no case is even shown.

BTW - have you actually read the details of this addition? They encourage you to add a picture of your actual item. they also give you the option to completely bypass it is you wish.
