I really messed up. Last moth I had a horrible flu and missed sending some Paypal items. My fault 100% but it was a mistake.

I just got my first neg and a mailbox full of bidders asking where their item is this morning. I wrote to each with tracking numbers or an apology, shipping info and refund.

I have looked into my Paypal account and see where I went wrong. I contacted all the people I failed to send items to. (about 5). I refunded and am shipping right away. I was honest. I am honest.

Now I get another neg. This one from a NPB. This makes two negs in a day. A Total of 17 negs out of 3700 positives. This guy jumped on the chance to slam me for filing NPB on him....

What do I do now? Do I start over?

I made a horrible mistake and I admit it. Is there any way I can make up for all of this? I feel so badly about the situation!

17 negs out of 3700 is nothing. Just forget about it and move on. I have 18 out of 6000 or so and all are retaliatory from deadbeats except maybe one. Most people never look at feedback. For example, have you looked at evalueville's feedback?

You wrote the people, apologized, refunded where necessary. I don't see what else you could or should do.

I would write a brief and factual reply to the negs and keep going. With all those positives, it isn't going to hurt you. If only 5 people were affected then the damage should all be done by now.

I can't believe they are being so unreasonable. Are they expensive items?

I know I keep track of Paypal shipments by printing a log of what has not been shipped and once I am through mailing for the day I go ahead and transfer funds to my bank. That way, I always have the transfer line before new payments not shipped and can always tell at a glance if I need to get something in the mail ASAP.

Good luck!

No, nothing was higher than $10.00. I just feel awful. I have had bids toady so I guess it won't hurt too much. I just feel bad about it and I am so mad at myself.

I keep on checking and it looks like I found all my mistakes. But I won't stop looking until I am sure.

I'd just forget about it and move on. Write explanations to the negs like lindajean suggested, though. There are worse things in life than a few negs!

I knew it... Now I have a bidder from New Zealand that paid $6.00 shipping for a record. I ate the money on an LP mailer. I ate the extra fifty-five cents and shipped the next day (March 28th).

This bidder sees my new negs and decides they should have the item by now and that I am a crook. I tell them the item shipped surface and they are mad. They say they paid for air. $6.00 is NOT air... Now I am getting another neg. What a day.

Some days I just want to fly away...

Geeze, it could take a month to get there if it wasn't sent air. You really aren't having a great day. When it rains, it pours. I'll pray you get a rainbow once your storm is over!

kyms, with your stellar record this will all go down the page and out of sight in no time. you have done all you could possibly do to make things right.

with my bad memory lately, I am always fearful of doing exactly this type of thing. for that reason, when I am notified by Paypal of payment I print out a shipping slip or the paypal notification. when I package the item to ship, i put this in the package. if I have any slips laying on my printer, I know the item hasn't been shipped.
so far it has worked for me.

This is one of my worst nightmares! I have recently had some health problems, and I know how
managing ebay can get out of hand REAL fast if you are not feeling 100%. It's a shame that you racked up negs. because of it, but don't let it get you down. I have a casual friend who I see at auctions from time to time. She lists atleast 100 items per week ( all antique, vintage, collectible). About a year ago, she had emergency major surgery on her back. She had alot of current listings at the time she went into the hospital. She had some family members attempt to manage/ pack and ship her items. It was disastrous! Every day for about a month, she acquired more negatives. But she is a really tough cookie!
As soon as she was able too, she got back in the drivers seat (like you are doing).
She left a follow up to every negative honestly stating she had surgery and was doing her best to make amends. And at the same time, she began listing like crazy! So, all of those old negatives soon disapeared under the new pages full of positives! Is she smart or what? She is still successfully selling and never looked back! You are doing your best, keep on this path and it will work out for you too.

I have this feeling that when I end my auctions I will miss sending either WBN's or something so what I do after I send them I print out the area on my outlook express where the WBN's are. Before that I print out the page in my ebay of the auctions that sold. Then I compare the two lists and see what or if I missed someone. When they pay I also put a check mark by their name. It takes a while but with the checks and balances it works for me. I think it takes an extra half hour to do this. I do not send out automatic WBN's as I like to have personal contact. I have never missed one with this system thank goodness. I have never been sick so I don't know that feeling but I have coached my daughter in what to do if something should happen...

I've been very blessed in the fact that when I screw up,my buyers are very understanding.I think some of it is the catagory you sell in. I had sold records and had horrible experiences from bidders in other countries. Most of it over shipping charges. I found when I sold videos and DVDs I got alot of really rude bidders and most of my Negs came from there. For me books are a great area to sell in, buyers are wonderful.

kyms: I am so sorry it is still happening.

I also ship record albums surface mail when they are going international, but I put in the checkout block on Ebay, and in my TOS that they will be sent surface unless they request air mail and to contact me for new shipping totals.

I had a person in Australia state one item out of 8 that I combined into a single box was not there. I gave him a refund, but he left a neutral and for a month I had every one of my international bidders checking with me every single day for their items even though I stated in the ad it would take up to 6 weeks for delivery

They don't want to pay the higher shipping fees, but they want their item in a week to 10 days. I have found most of them are very demanding and take a lot of hand holding. Lots of people say they love the international bidders, but the record and movie people must be a different type bidder.

You did the right thing already. You feel bad about messing up and have done your
best to make amends. That's all that's really necessary. Move on and don't let it
worry you. Most anyone with good sense can read a neg a get a feel for the attitudes
of the two parties. When I see a neg. I consider the source by looking at what else
the neg author bid on and then commented about.

From what you've written here today I'd be willing to buy from you anytime.

I can't thank you all enough. This day was horrible but your kind words and suggestions really helped. I am so glad to be a member of this community. People in the real world just can't understand how important our Ebay reputaion is. They just get that blank stare when I try to talk about this stuff. It's good to hear from people that understand. -Thank You
