Hello everyone, I have been reading the posting here for quite a while, and you are the crowd that can help me decipher this seller.
I won a set of books in auction in January 24th, I paid for them on the 26th by paypal. It is now March, this seller was telling me he just sent the books "a couple of days ago". We had a correspondence last week if he can send it by surface mail, I said "ok", because he said he quoted me a much lower shipping fee than the actual cost of postage. It will be coming from Europe. I thought that he already sent me my item since we had that correspondence. I had given him plenty of time. I got tired of waiting and e-mailed him again to let me know if it has been mailed or not. He said "I just mailed it a couple of days ago". What kind of a transaction was that? I finally got tired of it and reported him to e-bay. Is it true that e-bay insures all transaction? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I don't receive shipments for Europe, but if it is taking 3 weeks for me to get something from Canada, I would not be surprised by two months from Europe if it's not air freight. Dunno.
It just took 8 days for me to get a small airmail package from Australia.
Anyone else?
Patty

booksandstuff - If the item is truly being sent surface, it can take 4-7 weeks, even though most of the time it moves faster. Real question I would ask would be why it took so long for the seller to ship? Don't know if this is a scam, not yet at least, but definitely keep up on it. By the way, how much $$ are we talking about?

ebay's protection is only from $25-$250 and you will lose the first $25, so if it was less or more, you could be out some money.
If you paid by cc then you can still dispute the charge, however the time limit maybe up, need to check asap.
Does this seller have good feedback? If so maybe they are legit and just didn't ship fast. I would definately mention the shipping in feedback... yes a neg.
