THanks to the folks at OTWA for struggling with a decent way to figure out the new zone rates...from maps being done to scratching of heads in confusion to someone posting this link after finding it! I downloaded it, and it was EASY...even for me...and now I get the rates for all zones from where the item is shipping from, with one click! Check it out!

Too many bugs in the program. I got all the way to the USPS page that says put the first 3 digits of your origin zip into the popup screen. It wouldn't let me do that and I couldn't go on without that info. Win98 version OS.

I had a problem at first also. I had to move the setup screen all the way to the left and close the rate popup window to expose the space where you type in the origin zip. After that, it went smoothly and it seems to be working great. Those new rates are shocking. Looks like the folks at FedEx will be seeing me a lot more after the 30th.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Thanks for the great link! It works great and was simple to download..........but now I have a question??? Did some of the priority rates go down based on zone delivery destination also? Here is an example:
I shipped a 2 lb. 3 oz. item to a MD. zip code: 21037 Prior to zoning, the priority mail charge for this item to be shipped was $5.20 but now when I enter that zip into the chart I just downloaded it shows that the charge for that zip (in a zone 3 area from my zip code of 43793) is only $4.75......am I reading this right or have I not had enough coffee this morning?

My kid got the program running for me ( it was behind the screen or something ).
When the new destination rates came out I noticed that rural route zip codes tended to come out as Zone 8's even though the nearby cities may have been something less such as Zone 5s. It was like the UPSP were charging more to rural mailboxes than their nearby towns/cities.
Is this still the 'Land of Equality' post office-wise?
