I have never visited a board before but stumbled into this now looking for help & am SO LIVID I will let off steam. I spent time & energy doing pics & writing an ad for a $750. chanel bag. I sold it to high bidder last week #875566389 Today I see MY words & MY pics (except a dirty bag on the floor--last pic isn't mine) in a new aution for a chanel bag #882409739 I went to auction watch & deleted my pics but I guess too late. I'm fairly new to computers & not real savy. What can I do?

Your deleting your pics seems to have done the trick. When I look at the auction no pics show up but they were hosted here at AW.

you need to check your AW account and see if you were charged for her using your pics.

the only pic there now is the one of the purse on the floor.

Hi pecannorma,

If the other seller has linked to your picture, then I think that some of the Auction Watch members may advise you put more pictures back on your auction. This time instead of putting the Chanel bag on there, you could put a old beat up bag on. If she is linking to your pictures, then whatever she links to, is what she will get.

A couple of funny ideas might be ...

A bread bag with a couple peices of bread next to it.

How about a plastic grocery bag? Or you could use a brown paper lunch bag with the name Chanel written on it with a black marker.

You might want to contact ebay safeharbor to report this. Since your auction date is the earlier of the two, it should be very easy for ebay to see who stole the auction.

One more tip for posting on this board. Many people who post here, don't do it in the same name they use to sell on ebay. Sometimes people get offended by your comments and creat problems for your auctions.

Also, what kind of name is strictly_for_my_niggas anyway?

I wonder what kind of person would have this kind of name. I wouldn't buy anything from this person based on that name alone.

There was an ebayer awhile back that had this happen to her. She replaced the picture that was being "borrowed" by another seller with one of her larger rear end bent over in a G-string bikini. It was hysterical and there was nothing the other seller could do except close the auction early. I don't necessarily recommend you strip down for a photo session, but you could certainly put up something that would upset that other seller so they would think twice about doing it again. Just make sure you name your picture the exact same name you used on the original photos.

Keep us posted!
Mimi

Hmmm. In her? other auctions, one is hosted from Andale, one from IPIX and one from AOL. Wanna bet they don't have any of these?
Quick put some other pictures up, I've never had the opportunity to see one of these go down!

Yes, you should definitely put up some pictures in their place that will get people not to bid. You should also complain to AW and Ebay, as you ARE being charged for this idiot using your pictures. Be sure to put the bad ones in there with the same name

Thank you for the delightful responses. As I said I don't know much about the computer. To do ebay I just do a,b,c but I'm learning. I would love to put some good pics on there but my son isn't here to help me. I hope they didn't save my pictures somewhere to use them again. They still are using my write up but I did report it to ebay. I agree with one response, that name itself blew me away. It really takes all kinds doesn't it. I found reading all the things on this board so informative I will probably make it a habit. Thanks to all of you for the responses.

"you could use a brown paper lunch bag with the name Chanel written on it with a black marker."

I LOVE that idea! LOL

Since she is linking to YOUR AW account and YOU are paying for it, send her a message through the "ask seller a question" feature and ask her to send you her email address so you can send her an invoice through PP for image hosting and the ad copy. Make it sound very professional.

Something like:

Hello! I have noticed that you have linked to my image hosting service AW on this auction and that you are using my copy from auction #875566389. I have a flat rate I charge on all my images and ad copy. I charge $XX.XX for a normal 7 day auction or if you prefer $XX.XX per day for as long as the auction runs. I accept payment through PayPal at me@myemail addy.com . If you prefer, send me your email address and I will be more than happy to send an invoice to you.

Thank you-

XXXXXXX
eBay ID:XXXXXXX
email: XXXXXXXX

Even if she's dense, she'll get the point! She's been caught.

If she does email you and apologizes, you can still ask that she at least pay your AW fees for the image she linked to. She needs to know that those images don't show up on eBay for free!!!!

I think this person is a male. After reading feedbacks of his and some other buyers feedbacks I would try and put some rather unethical pictures in his auction and see what happens. I am sure that you can find ones that would fit this type of seller.I am sure he will never reimburse you for the use of the pictures so be creative.
Good Luck

You need to put in as many goofy pictures as you can. The links are still to your site. Just find any pics not even related to it. I prefer porn pics, but anything will do. Just copy and save them you your hard drive, and name them exactly what those files are. Then upload them with that name. That usually does the trick.

One thing you should do though is dump the reserve auctions. Let the letige buyers have a chance. With reserves, I have found that it tends to bring out the deadbeats.

Well, I'm here to say the seller has a bidder on this purse. It's a person with a feedback rating of 2. Oh, minus 2 that is!

the seller has also added a tidbit apologizing for the pics being down and saying they will be back asap.

You really ought to get somebody to help you put some bogus pictures in there to show this idiot what can happen when you steal photos.....

At a minimum the bogus seller should be taught to save pictures to his own hard drive.

The picture links are still in the auction and they are definitely linked to your account. Why not have a bit of fun with it while you can. Show this person for what he really is. A fake, or is that a flake. I like the brown paper bag suggestion.

I think this should work. I, too, am a novice so anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

1. Put a floppy disc in your hard drive.
2. Go to the picture of the plastic bag with CHANEL on it.
3. Click on the button on the right side of your mouse.
4. Click on SAVE AS
5. Select A Drive
6. Type in the same name as you called your original Chanel bag picture.
7. Go to auctionwatch MANAGE IMAGES
8. Click on upload
9. Double click on the new picture
10. Upload
11. Sit back, check out their auction and enjoy!

REPEAT WITH A SECOND PICTURE FOR MORE FUN. I am sure by now someone else has brought up some cool pictures.

If you need help, just speak up. Now that there has been a bid on the item, the auction cannot be changed, even now that the bid is cancelled. The time is now to get even for the rest of us.

Instead of a picture, upload a text message that reads " If you wish to purchase this item for $500.00, please email me. I would prefer to end the auction and complete the transaction off Ebay to avoid their outrageous final value fees". Then report the auction to safeharbor.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

No need to get all upset over this joker! He's just your typical, inconsiderate, rebellious youngster! (Age 17-24 Asian American, if you're interested). Probably selling his ex-girlfriend's purse!
