A guy from Slovenia wants to pay for his ebay win (total incl. shipping $15.00) with either cash or Mastercard. He says m.o. is too expensive from there and Paypal doesn't cover Slovenia. I would of course take American currency, but is there danger in taking Mastercard? What happens if it's a stolen card?

Buyer feedback is 6 pos., 0 neg., going back 3 years.

do you have your own merchant account??
if paypal does not accept slovenia,i dont think a slovenia issued master card will go thru with paypal.
you can try billpoint.
if you run it thru your merchant account, address verification will return address not verified .
ask him to send cash.

There is a huge risk in taking a card number from any eastern europe country

Hi. Have him try Bidpay. I have a lot of International buyers that use it and love it. I believe he can use his credit card with them.

due to the low value of the item $15.00 I would have no problem shipping there. Now if it were an expensive item different story.

if it turns out to be a stolen card, seller will lose on shipping to slovenia, her merchandise, fee paid for cc processing and chargeback fee.
if bidpay will take his credit card, let him use bidpay,it is only 5.oo for him.
i am beginning to hear european cc cards are stolen and being used on the net.
it takes longer to find out if it is a foreign card.
the credit card industry if they want to participate in e commerce has to come up with better protections for all,the banks who provide merchants with merchant accounts do a good job shuffling papers back and forth.
there is really no way to be sure the card is any good.

Thanks to all for the helpful responses. I suggested Bidpay to the buyer. Considering the low amount and the item (Encyclopedia of Death and the Afterlife) I'm sure he is honest. It's not the kind of merchandise a thief would be going after.
