Has anyone heard any news about a free listing day in June? I know they had one last year but was wondering if the 1 cent gallery day was it for this year.

Not only did they have the .01 cent gakkery last thurday but they have had two free listing days for ebay stores I think a free listing day for the auctions are just high hopes mostly like wont happen.

I think there is an excellent chance for the June 20th annual FLD. It's all about financial sheet numbers and they are hooked on great listing numbers for the closing of their second quarter.
I can see another possible FLD in August sometime as there should be a big dip in the listings due to the Priority Mail makeover. Not just a dip in the listings but a dip in sales. A FLD gives the ailing patient a nice shot in the arm. Nurse!

Below is an exerpt from The Auction Guild newsletter regarding an FLD:
When will ebaY's next US Free Listing Day be??? TAG is
guessing the week of June 17th, most likely on Tues 18 June.
As an alert reader pointed out, the ebaY Live get together is the
weekend of 21-23 June, so Tue makes more sense than Thu.
We feel ebaY will do a FLD at this time to improve their 2nd
quarter numbers, in the face of possible adoption problems with
the forced implementation of sell your item 2.0.

i'm also thinking it will be this thursday; while it is very close to the anaheim event, the event starts on FRIDAY. and if they give us 24 hours notice, we can do our stuff on Thursday and head out to the event on friday! everyone will be real happy at the event.... just what EBAY would like!

This year it may be a toss up. June 20th would seem to be the expected date.. But the volume of auctions have stayed steady between 6.5 and 7.5 million. Which should make the accountants happy and say no need for a free listing day to bring up 2nd quarter earnings.
If a free listing day does happen the real question may be will Ebay be up and operating. The last free listing day we had an almost 2 million auction spike. Can the Ebay hardware handle 9.5 million auctions with all the other special events taking away from Ebay's ISP bandwidth. In the past six months, crazy little things happen when they seem to reach 7.5 million active auctions. It could be interesting.
