Hi All- Got another situation for you...
A bidder won an auction and paid me 1 month and 1 day later. (his feedback was 20 pos & 3 negs for non-payment so I added a positive to help him save his feedback quickly).
I shipped the item via Media Mail (this is what he paid for)the next day.
The item was delivered on May 9th (or so the tracking info shows). On May 18th the person asks me for feedback and wants to know where his item is... I gave him the tracking number and told him that I had given him feedback.
This guy claims the package never got to him. I asked him to check at his Post Office. He claims it is not there.
I asked him to sign Postal Form 1510 saying the item did not get to him. He now wants a refund and refuses to fill out the form... He is threatening me with a neg. Says I am the worst seller he has ever encountered...
Well the tracking info shows the item delivered... Am I being unreasonable in asking him to fill out this form? Should I just refund without knowing if that package really did shop up or not?
I told him I will not refund unless this form is filled out and signed... Am I wrong?

You are not wrong at all. Stick by your guns and do not give in. The negative if he leaves it will not hurt you at all. Just add a proper response.

Yes stick by your guns. Just send him one more kindly worded e-mail telling him that the tracking information indicates it was delivered and to protect yourself the proper paperwork must be filled in. After that don't bother replying to him any further (unless it is regard to the form) getting in a tit for tat e-mail battle is a waste of time just state your case and move on. After all thats what they put the delete button on your keyboard for . Lots of luck and if you do get a neg don't let it worry you. People can see through all that.

sounds to me like he is willing to steal from you, but not willing to commit a felony signing a false USPS statement. That's the only possible explanation, IMHO.

Let me get this right, after A MONTH he pays you , and You QUICKLY leave him positive feedback (To Save???His feedback), with the knowledge that he has several negatives, and NOW he wants to Neg you for non-delivery, AFTER You provided the Tracking #??? Do I Have this correct??!!?? This HAS GOT To be a Troll Thread!!!

Nope, sorry I am no troll... this is all correct. I get all the fun ones...
The reason I gave him feedback was to help him. I thought he was serious about eBay, wanted to improve his feedback and not risk being tossed off eBay for nonpayment... I was trying to be nice. Silly me.. I won't make that mistake again.. well I probably will.. I am a nice person.

OK, all you sellers still living in the Dick and Jane dreamworld....consider KYMS's actions and tell me where she naively went wrong. In case you don't get it, it was that she allowed herself to become vulnerable to one of the nasty, ugly, miserable bullies that constitute about 1 percent of our buyers. And this will happen again until she stops giving feedback first. When a buyer spouts the familiar claptrap about the seller's obligation to post feedback first, I know that person is looking for potential victims. Learn from this all too common experience and wise up.

Just an update... After my last Email to this "bidder" (saying no refund without the form). This is what I woke to this morning.
we dont wanna hear no excuse for that.
we never recieve your package.
there is no reason we are gonna lie about it.
we've been telling you hornestly truth.
because we paid for it,
or may be you sent it to wrong address???
we don't know ,and we don't care where you sent it to.
facts is
you recieved our payment ,
we have receipt and records for payments by fedex.
resolution is we need money back a.s.a.p.
there is no other excuse or negotiation needs.
thats all.
thanx
I just repiled with a basic "Don't bother me again unless you agree to fill out the Postal Form." and told him I too have proof that I sent the item, so it means very little that he sent money..Thant was never up for debate. I know he sent the money..
