OK, I did it now. I listed a brass bed on ebay hoping that only someone local to the Los Angeles area would be interested. I offered to deliver it at my cost within the Southern California area. Now I have several inquiries asking me about shipping costs to places as away far as Texas!!

I'm certainly not driving to Texas so can anyone recommend a blanket shipper in the Los Angeles area? The bed disassembles to a headboard, footboard, and rails, but is obviously still quite large and I know a crate would be prohibitive. Thanks.

hi,
i dont know the exact
name, but when you call UPS ask for their "heavy & large items department"
they will figure it out
and ask for a rate quote,
I once shipped a palatte of 1500 pounds with them for $200.00 from New Jersey to Florida,
(fedex wanted $1200.00)
you will need to know the size (measurements) and weight.

Blanket wrapper - Boston Trucking 1-800-225-1357 - They work all over the country.

I know several people who have used them with great success.

Good luck
