that I should avoid shipping to? I just had someone ask if I'll ship to Singapore. I normally don't ship overseas, but I have in the past (I had a bad experience of my bank charging me $15.00 to cash a $4.00 money order that wasn't in US funds and I didn't realize it). Should I make up some excuse and avoid at all costs?

I've shipped there before with no problems.
Singapore is the kind of place where spitting out chewing gum on the sidewalk is punishable by flogging, or some such severe penalty. The crime rate is pretty low.

We've had several shipments to singapore with no problems.
If you are worried about it ask the person to use BidPay.

Never had trouble shipping into Singapore.
But I had a middleaged lady friend arrested at the airport for carrying a Bible in.

Thanks for the info. I gave her a quote - it's actually cheaper than I thought it would be for an item under a pound - only $6.00.

They are not allowed to receive pornographic materials there. I knew of someone who had a porno video confiscated by their mail service. When they went to the post office to pick it up - they were reprimanded for it and given a warning.
You also get flogged for graffitti too - remember that one American boy who was caned out there a few years back?

many yahoo shops are hit with indonesian using stolen cc data to place orders .
if the shop specifies it does not do business with indonesia, they claim they are in singapore.
it turns out that singapore will reroute mail to indonesia, not always, but with express or priority mail, there is a higher chance of rerouting.
so be cautious,if they are using cc,check with bank which issues the cc and note the shipping address.country ocde of indonesia is ID.
there is a site which will tell what country the city is in,if you are not sure it is a singapore city, key the city name in and the website will tell you which country.
i agree with all the posts on singapore,it is a good country (or is it part of malaysia now??)

gravid, please send me an email ([email protected]). As a missionary candidate to that area of the world, I'm very interested to hear about Singapore's policies regarding religion. Thanks.

Actually, Singapore is a city/ state/ island/country, all-inclusive. I have no hesitation shipping there. Great customers and English is one of the 4 official languages. And no, it is not part of Malaysia....Malaysia wishes otherwise though, I bet!
