a tie lot, lets say 4 or 5 ties would you like the lot to have mixed colors, patterns or be the same color and similar patterns. I have a mountain of ties to sell and I was planing to sell them in lots of 4 or 5. They are ties that I have been trying to sell separately but didn't and instead of donating them to the infamous GW I thought I would sell them for what my cost is plus a little higher. At least I would get my money back. Ladies you can answer also. Any help appreciated.

I would separate them in pattern and color types. Most people either want solids or small pattern types. Some people might want louder ties, but they are in the minority from what I can guess.

Hey, wait a minute. I bought 5 ties by Structure a while back for $1.25 (25 cents each) and just sold them for $36.00. I was pretty happy about that. I group ties by color and design. Loud, pastel, floral, muted. Recognized names sell best. Oscar, Pierre, Aigner, etc.

premake the lost so they make sense,
keep in mind that women are the ones that buy them 80 % of the time
(yes, those are the ones that get owentoasters in return )
but they are few men they shop for them selfs, I suggest little marketing with the package.
lot of 5:
1 black with pattern:
great for any sport jacket or suit
2 blue with pattern
great for casual days
3 red with black pattern
great for business suits
4 crazy pattern
for night out on the town
5 monotone color
perfect with matching color shirt
for the simple / elegant look
if yoi put it like that they dont have to think about what to wear them with,
they will just take it because they own
sport jacket and a suit,
you have to make it easy, otherwise they will ask
"why do I need 5 ? "
(that would mostly aply to those without girlfriend )
ofcourse list names, lenght and app. retail value.

Twinsoft. I think she meant. Premake the lot so that they make sense. Or put ties together and explain why you are doing the lot the way you are. You know when it gets deep into the night that strange things happen like errors in typing etc. I understood it and hers was a great suggestion, one which I am going to follow.
Thanks to all now I can sit and go through all my ties. Yks, that will take some time.
Also to the men I am glad that you got a little humor out of this thread because with some of the doom and gloom here we need that. Isn't just like a man to twist everything around to make something good look bad. Thanks again...

Libra, about how much are you looking for for these ties? Give me your ebay username when you list them, I'm always looking for some good cheap ties.

drbrownauctions-If I do a relist in a group of 4 I charge 8.00 to start the auction and put a BIN for $9.25. Then I ship for $2.50 that includes postage and bubble envelope. I usually pay $1.00 a tie so I list them twice and if they don't sell I lot them and just get my money out of them. I sell most of my ties on a BIN option because they are used and I don't want the price to go sky high. I do sell some ties that are a straight auction like Hermes, Versace and Rush Limbaugh...Any special brand. I have some buyers that like certain ones and then they never get on ebay. Do you have a special brand? bracelet is my user id on ebay.
