I had listed on Sunday after attack. I have got three bids so far in 24 hours. I think not bad. Hope you are doing well also.
PS. Hope it is OK for everyone after all horrible things happened. I am from outside US and throughly support you on your mission.
God Bless

My bids have fallen waaaaay off. I think it is a combination of the A4A and people just not buying. I was going gang busters before all this happened.

Well...
The losers I put up for AFA are getting MULTIPLE bids!
While my great-sellers in my regular auctions AREN'T EVEN GETTING ANY PAGE VIEWS!
AFA has essentially ENDED my feeBay hobby for the next 3 mos!
Don't mind donating to RedCross...do MIND donating EVERYTHING to Meg's ego!

tomwiii is right. views are down as well as bids.
last week i sold 21 out of 23 items for very good prices
this week i sold 3 out 9 items and those 3 didn't do well at all
I am thinking about putting up items with BIN for now and see how that goes.
maybe after the first large group of AFA the sellers will quit posting there, ihope, ihope, ihope

Ebay isn't a hobby for me...I haven't been able to put anything on A4A so I could compare. Maybe this will sort itself out when everyone finds out how much $$ this will cost them. After they make their donation everything will go back to normal?

There is only so much money to go around and I was a bidder I would be bidding on AFA~ a good feeling and I would be getting an item with free s/h so I could afford to bid higher. Saw items that never get the bid price that are doing quite well under AFA but regular items in that category bids were a "joke" . I am going to list a very few AFA but mostly do BIN and sell off my lower end items. Good luck~ not only as ebay screwed sellers but made the economy a little worse ~if sellers here were making the usual money~ they could afford to still buy~ I am saving all my money to help pay the mortage and that is about all! A two week blitz would have been better!

Terrible!
Had 11 items close on Sunday with only one item with a bid ($3.00). Didn't even pay for listings. These types of items were always great sellers in the past.
I lost money! I have never lost money in the past two years. This is crazy. I did make money on other sites so I am going to focus on them for a while. With 7 mouths to feed, clothe, and buy Christmas presents for in the next couple of months and I have another one on the way feebay is not my charity of choice! Besides my husband's company did a 100% donation match to any money we donate through them.
KrazyKeri- but not on ebay or anywhere else

Ain't that the truth.
What was eBay thinking? 100 days? Sellers on ebay supposedly have 100 Million to donate? A tenth of a Billion.

I am really starting to get concerned. And this goes on through the Christmas season?
krazykeri What other sites are you using? I have tried many of them in the past without much luck. Are bids up in those other places?
Anyone have any ideas as to what sellers can do about this fiasco?

Not terrible not great. Not as well as I'd hoped for this part of the year.
Like most of you, I hope the A4Billpoint will peter out when sellers see it's costing them money.
In the meantime, as KrazyKeri said, I'll concentrate on other venues, and only list stuff on eBay that doesn't have local appeal.

I'm with Sadie.
Not terrible, not great. Bids are coming in, but slower than normal. Some of my items are doing OK.
As usual, I've offered some great deals on opening bids (and I almost never use a reserve--it's on there to fly at whatever it brings). Before, many of my auctions would have had the first bid very quickly. Almost certainly in the first 24 hours. Now, even though I'm offering a ridiculously low opening bid on some items, they just sit there for too long.
One item I have on is such a good deal that I was getting angry that they would not bid. I told myself I was going to show them--I would end the auction and keep it for myself, or relist it later. But it has a bid now, and it's going for about 1/6 of what I was expecting. But, I'm hoping for the best. Usually, the bidders do not let me down in the end. It has 2 plus days left. Plenty of time.

Oh I had bids but like others here, lost money on everything that closed yesterday.
Ebay can't back out now or admit that they made a horrible mistake. They have had way too much publicity to let them ease out of this. They are bringing us down but at the same time will be bringing themselves down. When the flurry of activity is over, many who operate on a wing & prayer will be gone--never to return. At a minimum, they will have lost listing and FVF revenue for the items many sellers will be diverting to other venues.
I am hoping that the fervor lessens, but not holding my breath. Will list at some fixed price sites, put more in the B&M and I am having a live auction in November to get rid of slow sellers. That auction may just have some great items included!

The only items I see that are getting great bids outside of A4A are patriotic items. You can throw patriotic items up anywhere including Carnaby, ePier and all the other subpar sites and they'll sell for great prices. Sellers of patriotic items will do great the next 100 days, but outside of that it could be brutal!
This might be a perfect opportunity to move items to other venues like Yahoo and BargainandHaggle for the time being. Crosslisting on eBay and another site is another option. Crosslisting the same item on eBay and BargainandHaggle works great since you can easily decline a negotiation on BargainandHaggle if the item gets a bid on eBay. Plus there's no listing fees on BargainandHaggle.

jadejim is right, about not being able to back out now. However, after they must have known what a problem it would cause, they started the a4a only search. That was the last straw. And it is something that could be corrected, but they won't. The other thing that could have been corrected is the non-paypal requirement, and still could be, but it won't be. I wonder if we bombard them with these two things that would improve the situation, if they'd listen at all? No. Because there are people there making decisions who don't have the guts to ever change anything that they once start.

Mine are down, like others I was starting to do real well before this tragic event. I am starting with lower opening bids and really diversifying my seller list, I am fortunate to have the odds and ends inventory to do this. A relative told me they saw the A4A advertised on TV. I have not and neither have any other people I have spoken too. the one thing I noticed the past 4-5 days is that I am getting a lot more ask this seller a question, and suprisingly some that did email really did bid.

Rainbowman11: My sell thru rate on Yahoo the last 2 weeks-
31 items listed- 18 sold. 6 were Buy it now. I may have 1 deadbeat in this group.
BidBay- 3 items- all sold- I've had great luck with site and I think it is because I use the chat boards.
Bidville- 3 items- 1 sale- not great but I am testing the water
Bargain and Haggle- 25 items- 3 sales- all left overs from other sites. Just starting out in this sight also.
I've sold several items on Lycos but when eBay took over - I stopped.
Nothing on Sellityourself or Grab a bargain.
Half.com 13 sales this month- down from the spring (30 to 50 books a month) but up from summer (7 books average).
Feebay- I generally do 50 to 100 listing with a 60 to 75% sell rate a week (well up until now). Then I trickle items down to Yahoo! and then to BidBay. Everything sells eventually but I stop paying listing fees and move to free sights afer 4 tries.
Good Luck Rainbowman11!
KrazyKeri- only here- not on eBay or anyhere else

krazikeri I am registered to sell at most of those other sites. So, I will give them another try.
I have just done something shameless and we will see how it works. I listed something on A4A with a little note in my description about how a lot of sellers make their living selling on ebay and to look at their other auctions that are not listed on A4A because they can't afford to donate all of their income to charity. If ebay can shamelessly promote themselves in this way, why can't sellers? I admit, it might backfire on me but since I am not getting bids anyway.....
I will let you know what happens.

I'm up 20% over September last year. Bids seem fine, payments are fine, views are up, NPBA's are down.
