Wow, I am pinching myself. The outpouring of emails from new bidders on my AFA auctions is amazing. I am delighted. It is wonderful.

Myself and a few other reputable dealers in my category on eBay joined forces to put up AFA auctions consistently in our category, unique and quality items. We joined the AFA program with a positive attitude, wanting to contribute, not expecting anything in return. We rolled up our sleeves and pitched in, doing our best, contributing at different levels for all of us, some lesser, some more.

The results are astonishing. Buyers new to eBay are emailing us, telling us how delighted they are in our auctions. The side effect is that they are clicking into our other auctions and bidding, giving us prices that still give us generous profits after covering all of the costs of the AFA auctions. We are gaining new customers to our customer bases. Our old loyal buyers are bidding also and emailing us to show their support.

New buyers, good sales, new friends ... all the result of having a positive attitude, pitching in and doing a good deed without any expectation of gains or profits or giving any thought to the cost.

God Bless America.

I have to agree. I have had several emails from people thanking us for listing in the AFA section. We have received sales from our EBAY store and extra bids in our auctions because of our AFA auctions. Bidders are very excited to be able to bid on AFA items and know that the money is going to a worthy cause. They like it so much that they are more than willing to bid on our non-AFA items.

This has been a win-win situation for us.

I agree - I think it is a win-win.

I also think eBay needs to take a look at why they generate so much hostility among their sellers - it's sympomatic of an underlying problem in their approach to the relationship.
