THANKS EBAY!! Once again you have "fixed" something so that it is worse than before!

What used to be a simple proceedure of searching daily under a FEW "Vehicles" catagories of Vintage Toys has now become a "Quest for the Holy Grail" in a MINIMUM of 7 or 8 catagories...and that is what I have discovered so far...probably another 2 or 3 that are still lurking under unrecognizable titles! What will be next....catagories for each color?????

Now that there are 10+ catagories where 2 or 3 previously existed, the DUH-bay PR department can "brag" about a TRIPLING of catagories without mentioning that the net number of auctions is still the same...maybe less!

Did anybody in California bother to THINK that by making it MORE difficult to find items usually translates into LESS bids being placed? Less bids also tends to translate into LOWER bids, which interestingly enough also means LESS FVF to eBay! DUH!!??!!

Now you have managed to make it MORE difficult for buyers, LESS prosperous for sellers, and cut YOUR OWN income in the process! What a grand slam!

PLEASE "HELP" US SOME MORE!!!

Yes, they are silly. Say I have some Little Tikes toys they used to go under Modern- Little Tikes, and now they are under Pretend Play, Make-Believe:Little Tikes Dollhouse Size. Very silly, artsy fartsy. Someone must have been really bored.

Bored....or got a REALLY REALLY REALLY good shipment of something to smoke!

I just spent two EXTRA hours searching my "regular" catagories and KNOW that I haven't found them all yet!

Yes, they are a nightmare!!!!

No, they weren't smoking anything when they thought of this it's just another pathetic attempt by ebay to get sellers to list in 2 categories thus increasing their listing fees & profits.

Dawna: from what I have seen so far, it is going to take you sellers more than 2 catagories!

You need to decide if it is PRIMARILY plastic or tin or steel or PLay-Doh or "other material" (PUUHHAAAALLEEEZE!).....

Then decide if it is pre-1970 or post-1984 or belonged to Adam & Eve's kids....

Then decide if it qualifies as vintage or antique or modern or collectible....

(you DO realize this list could go on and on and on and on and on AND ON, don't you?)

HEH MEG! When you get done with your round of talk shows PR tour, can you bring back the nice and simple: "VINTAGE TOY:VEHICLES"
catagory? There ARE buyers out here who would like to $PEND $OME MONEY if we could FIND items!

The eventual end result of this sort of tinkering will be 10,000,000 categories with one item in each!!!

10,000,000 catagories with one item in each.......

hummm?? Bet eBay would be able to charge EXTRA for them too since each one would be a "featured auction"!!!

I often wonder if the people who MAKE these wonderful changes have ever USED ebay to buy or sell????

packratsattic: I usually just scanned "Vintage Vehicles" on my favorites list, then about a week ago discovered this "Ebay Tinkering".....needless to say I was grinding my teeth and pulling hair out at the same time! Now I have to scan "Die Cast, Toy Vehicles" which has about 16,000 entries. Not sure if I have enough hard drive space to put all the individual categories on my bookmark page!!

Why does ebay think making something worse is making it better?

Because they have a staff of software folks eager to confirm their own existence? It is beyond me.

And yes, I want to spend money but ebay is making it difficult at best to do that.
