I need to ship a halloween costume to an APO address. I remember reading in a thread that it needed a customs form attached? Is that correct and if so, which one?

Here is my take on it. I think "technically" you do. One clerk pointed it out to me on her screen when I had to insure something and she looked it up.
But I have shipped numerous times to an APO without a form.
So...It all depends upon how alert the clerk is I guess.

Sandvet, I think you are confusing the customs form with the insurance form. The customs form to use depends on mail type and weight.
"Customs forms are required when you send dutiable letter packages, small packets, printed matter, and parcels to international destinations. The specific customs form is governed by the type of mail, the weight of the item, and the regulations of the destinating country. "

Yes, yes, you are absolutely right capotasto. I jumped the gun on this one. I think it is 6 pounds when you switch over to the white customs form. I'd only used it once and my auto pilot thought it was for a monetary reason. Big package = big money!

A parcel that weighs UP TO 4.0 lbs uses the small customs form and one weighing OVER 4.0 lbs uses the large one.
