Hi all,
I was just reading over ebay's new photo hosting service. (Like they need to add a new feature to the ones that don't quite work is beyond me.)
If we choose to continue to use AW's services to host my pics (which is what I really want to do) will my auctions show up on ebay with the camera icon next to it? Or will that only be for people who use ebay's new service?
I noticed the other day that in a certain cat. many auctions did not have the camera icon, but the auctions contained photos.
I myself usually just click on auctions with the camera icon. I don't sell w/o using pictures, and I have rarely bid on auctions w/o the camera icon.

The camera icon is activated when there is a picture in the "picture url" of the auction. If a picture is included in the body of the description but the seller doesn't put something in the "picture url" as well, the camera icon won't be activated.
AW inserts a transparent gif in the "picture url." I don't see any reason why this would change.

I've been using eBay's new photo hosting to run one-time auctions. I think it's great. And amazingly, eBay isn't taking the opportunity to gouge customers. This is the best thing to happen at eBay in a long time.
Adding photos to auctions is the biggest hurdle in learning to sell at eBay. Now users can upload photos right from their hard drive, without having to FTP or use HTML code.
Yeah, it's buggy but then so's everything they're doing nowadays.
