Good morning everyone!
Does anyone have a phone number for PayPal? I can only find a mailing address, and I won't be in Palo Alto today.
This question is probably stoopid: Tomorrow, the dreaded Oct 16: will PayPal count back to April 16, 2000 to determine whether or not $500 in 6 mos has been taken? Or will they count forward, thereby REALLY starting their new policy on that date, giving us until we've reached our $500 limit or April 16, 2001 to decide whether or not to upgrade.
I wrote to their customer service, but I guess with this great economy, they're really scraping for reps - the response not only gave me nothing (much like their bulk emails), but was written so poorly, I had to decipher it! Aaaargh!

Good morning sadie999!
The only phone number that I have for Paypal is: 877-672-9725 and the person who answered the phone when I called about the buyer wanting me to ship the item to Estonia was not very helpful. I still have the money in my account and we will find out today if my account has been restricted as I was just a high bidder on an item that I plan to purchase with Paypal and then close my account. I cannot get any type of customer service with these people and the only person that even has a clue is Paypaldamon. He is who I truly feel sorry for since Paypal/X.com has pretty much cut their own throats with all of the lies lately.

1-800-836-1859 and it says press 1 for customer service. Again, I do not know if its any good...I THINK I got it off an old thread here a while back. Good Luck.

it is my understanding in all posts I read here and with all I read on the paypal sight that all counts will start as of oct 16th.
when you log in there will be a counter that will add the amount of each actual credit card payment you receive paypal fund tranfers or bank tranfers will not be added to this counter. what is not clear is if this counter will be made visable to us on the sight from day one.
if the counter reaches the $500 mark before the 6 months is up all payments at that point that come in to your account will remain pending untill you sign up for the business account or the counter is turned back to 0 at the end of the 6 month period .
if your pending payments were to add over $500 before the counter was set back to 0 for the next 6 month period it would be wise to think about upgradeing your account
that is how I understand how this is all going to be working from all I have read here and at paypal.
all this sounds like a fair deal to me I think also we will be some suprised at the amount of payments being made with paypal fund debitcards and bank account fund and not with actual credit cards
there is a thread farther down with the phone number of paypal if you still need it titled "paypal froze my account or did they"

Thank you all!
It's really wonderful to be able to get answers to things here on a Sunday morning! Heaven knows that by the time PayPal answers my second worded-so-carefully-even-a-5yrold-can-understand-it email, I could be an old woman!
