I checked one of my auctions this morning and the high bidder had the word "private" where feedback number should be. When I clicked on it, he had 7 positive and 2 negs in last month. It stated that he chose to keep his actual feedback private at this time. How did he do this? And why would someone do this? Thank goodness he is no longer high bidder and I hope it stays that way. Would you cancel a bid from a person with this type feedback? This is the first time I have seen this.

How ? In the Feedback Forum, you can set your feedback to Public or Private.
Why ? Most commonly used to hide an obscene comment during the appeal process with Safe Harbor. ( they recommend doing this if someone leaves a comment with profanity in it )
