Is there a similar service as Paypal that serves Bulgaria? I went to check out the Bidpay page but Bulgaria is not listed as one of the countries they serve. I'm trying to help out a seller in Bulgaria because this person is only able to accept CASH payments or very expensive money transfers, and that's obviously not very bidder friendly.

I'd be shocked if there was. Bulgaria is very high on the list of countries prone to credit card fraud. That seller is going to have to get a merchant account. Very nice of you to help the seller, just don't get too helpful.

uaru's advice is dead on. You are kind to help, but be careful.

I would recommend reading this thread dealing with someone who tried to "help out" a seller in Romania:

As bleak as the picture has been presented so far, it's even worse.

all attempts to convert credit card numbers into anything sent to Bulgaria are fraud.

Crooks in Bulgaria are expoiting the western view that "there's a few good people everywhere". I'm sure there are a lot of honest Bulgarians, but none of them are trying to use credit card numbers.

Oh dear, thanks for the advice. I guess I will abandon this effort!

At my bank they won't even take Bulgarian currency.

They won't take any currency/cheques from any ex-communist country.
