Well this isn't a direct answer to your question, but it is related. I was helping out with a yard sale the other day and we had asked a guy what kinds of things he was looking for. His answer? "I'm looking for stuff to sell on eBay."
Well good luck buddy, because both me and the woman I was helping both sell on eBay too, so I doubt there were any "good" things. Just kind of tickled me to hear him say that though.

I heard "EBAY" all day Saturday. Peoples expections are so skewed and out of touch with real market values, that I'm lucky to get anything just for our "castle". Thank goodness they don't look at books that way, or I'd be out of business next week.

Since the market of stuff varies so much, I rarely worry if someone else nearby is an eBayer or not. With so many auctions, no one can have all the markets to themselves.
Hoarders usually get stuck with stuff they can't sell

I don't do books but around here the competition for them is healthy. Whenever I see a slew of books invariably there are several people angling and posturing over them and they sure don't look like they want any more company!
