Today, I recieve a payment, but the Cashier's Check name didn't match the return adress.
I dig into the envelope to find a small note:
Hi, you maybe wondering why I have my check instead of the bidder's payment in here. To tell you the truth, the winning bidder got into a car accident and is in a coma. The doctors don't know if she'll recover. She's so far behind, god only knows what might happen. Since she is my roomate, I thought of trying to ease any future problems down the road. So, I have my payment in here. Hopefully, you understand this situation and allow me to do this. After all, I am on eBay myself, and well...I don't want my friend's account to fall cause some nutball (not saying you are one mind you) thinks she either re-neg'd the deal or she cooked up some lame ass excuse.
The bank tells me the check is good.
Kinda of a nice story to tell in the midst of all these deadbeat stories, no?

Yeah, the usual "buyer had an accident/is in a coma" story is given as the excuse for NOT paying. I hope she recovers.

Geez, C_S, you get some of the weirdest bidders. Didn't you get an email from some other friend-of-bidder not too long back where the bidder had DIED and the FOB said that the (dead) bidder had intended the item as a gift for the FOB, so FOB was sending you payment?
