Well I had to have one problem to spoil a great evening of auction closings. One of my bidders has a dead email address. It's certified dead, not just a bounce or delay. I've had one before and the guy contacted me--I suspect the same will happen here. My plan is to wait three days and then contact the next bidder and also contacting safeharbor as this is not the sort of baloney any seller should have to deal with.
Apparently the bidder has been bidding elsewhere on eBay and will make this a headache for all involved.

Any other ideas. I'm not doing a long-distance call for a $2.75 item.

mballai,

Must be the week for that..I've had emails that bounced because the mailbox was full but just got my first AOL one that had blocked my emails.

Tried using the "send this auction to a friend" but still blocked.

Like you, I'm not spending my time or money to make phone calls.

Is there anyway we can touch base w/safeharbor about these types of accounts? They have a dozen or so feedback, all positive, but I'm not sure how to work around this one!

I did have ebay pull their contact information just in case they aren't blocking ebay mail.

I use multiple email addresses (Yahoo and Hotmail) to mail from when things get stuck. This one came back DOA because of "User Unknown" I would think this comes under supplying false contact info, but that's not entirely true--it was probably valid when given.

I have contacted another seller to see if they heard from this bidder.

It's a violation of ebay's TOS for a bidder or seller to post an invalid email address. Contact Safeharbor immediately and they will suspend the bidder. I've had this happen three times and all three bidders are NARU now

I will contact safeharbor if I don't hear from them within three days as per eBay. This bidder has a spotless feedback record and might not have changed their email address on eBay if they changed ISPs.
