This one just killed me...after going thru the usual this is my e-mail, here is my mailing address, etc. THIS was tacked on to the end....
Of all the things my husband bids for on eBay, this one has to be the ugliest. Can't say I'm looking forward to receiving this set -- bet you are very happy to be rid of it!! Pity me ---------- I have no idea where it can be "displayed" to look attractive!!
I about died laughing~!!!!...my response???
Actually, from a distance it looks pretty good...the close up photo made it look REALLLY ugly....and YES I am glad to be rid of it ...lol
Oh well...had my chuckle for this round of auctions

I always enjoy a sale much more when there is a personal note attached-- even like that one! (Sort of reminds me of that Visa/Ebay TV commercial with the husband buying the lamp to match his wife's ugly lamp!)

Phew. Now at least I can sleep.
Noritake gets that ugly? Insipid I can imagine (I am not one for little bitty flowers), but downright nasty looking? Live and learn. My grandmother's Sunday dinnerware was some old Noritake design -
"Burmese" I think was in the name, it had pheasants or peacocks in it - I thought it was pretty nice. Haven't seen the pattern since. Anybody know what I'm referring to?

I don't think it's fair of you to tease us like this. I can't figure out how a tea set could rate as the ugliest thing he has ever bid on. Give us some clues. Peeeease!

HCQ, I have seen that Noritake pattern, there is a couple of pieces up right now, a cup and saucer. I do agree (can you believe it ) It is one of the prettiest patterns out there. Does not seem to go all that high on ebay considering how old it is. Heather
edited to add: The shape is Windsor, easy enough to find, not a lot of the Windsor shape out there, and only a few pieces up in that shape with different decals.

HCQ: I have been doing that for months. My great grandfather left my mother one place seeting of Homer Laughlin, I have been buying it piece by piece for about 6 months, and am almost finished. If you just do a search for Noritake Windsor, you will get maybe 10 auctions total, half are for other decals and half are for the Peacock, as I said there is not enough listed to make it hard to look for. You can also search for Noritake Peacock and you will get some there also. You might check into the actual pattern name, I am not sure what it is called. Looks like most everyone lists it by shape. Really, the search for pieces is great fun. Heather
