I will be directing credit card users to this page for information on Paypal and Payplace. I hope others follow the lead and boycott Paypal. We should send Paypal a message that deceptive business practices are NOT okay.

Perfect!

I've thought about adding a handling fee to my shipping charge which I will waive if payment is made through Paylace! Paypal lied and then keeps saying "everybody play by the rules!" why don't they play by the rules? I hope Pay Place is ready for all the business they will be getting!

Thanks for your feedback. I'm a little dismayed by the folks who claim they will continue to accept Paypal. It seems to me, not only regarding Paypal but also other aspects of business, that many sellers are willing to be stepped on. The way I see it, there are always other alternatives. I love being my own boss and I don't like the feeling that all my money is going to my pimp. I get enough of that from eBay.

Yes, many of my customers now pay by Paypal. Probably in large part due to the number of sellers like me who advertised "always free" paypal payments in our auctions. Kind of like being in a cult. Now Paypal is passing around the Kool-Aid. I guess here's where we part company.

Interesting note: If half of my customers that now pay by Paypal sign up for Payplace, I'll receive $500 - $600 per month in referral fees alone. I can live with that.

I've used Payplace only twice and both transactions were with the same customer. The transactions went well. I would like to use Payplace more, but I read this on their Help page:

What is the maximum amount I can withdraw from my PayPlace account?

You may withdraw your full amount from your PayPlace account, if you are requesting that we send you a check. However, $200 is the maximum you can electronically transfer from PayPlace to your bank account within a 90-day period.

I don't particularly want to wait for a check in the mail.

Hey, I like it!! Are there any quirks that can haunt us later with PayPlace? I will change mine in a heartbeat if it has a good reputation and other sellers/buyers have had no trouble! Sounds great!!!!

On another note: I have encountered a problem, I just started a PayPal replacement thread that they LOCKED. Told me to make my comments on other threads. Ridiculous.

Yet there are 4 or 5 other PayPal threads that just opened without being locked. But they weren't about alternatives to PayPal. What could that mean?

Hhhmmmm. Very interesting.
