Hey everyone!

The only thread I have to scroll on is "VintageSuperShabbyWowLQQKAwesomeUniqueWOW!" Everything else comes up just fine on Netscape for me but Joice is experiencing the same thing you are all reporting with IE.

If I deleted the thread, it might solve the problem, but to be honest, I really don't know.

MyBiddness - it's your thread so it's your call. Can you live with having to scroll across the page until the thread drops off the front page or would you like me to delete it?

I think it did. My sacrifice paid off! And, I really loved that thread... at least it died for a good cause.

I have to say I think this was a seriously uncool thing to do--deleting the thread. I don't know why you (AW) couldn't have edited the thread title, or moved all the posts to a new thread with an abbreviated title. You might even have locked it so it'd have scrolled off the faster, and spared the hatchet.

WOMBing a thread should have a lot more justification than one person complaining "oh, I have to scroll real far." (THAT's a problem? This is an election year, get some perspective.) The long-title problem has happened before, several times in several fora, and this is the first time I've seen a wholesale thread deletion to "solve" the problem. AFAIC, it's an excessive reaction to a trifling inconvenience.

The thread may have been originated by mybiddness, but several people posted to it, me among them. I don't think the deletion was warranted under the circumstances. NOTHING PERSONAL to anyone involved, but I think it was a bad move.
