I will never understand all the animosity towards Microsoft...

I started playing with "home computers" way back in 1981 with my Atari 400 -- then "upgraded" to an Atari 800...

Then went thru a Texas Instruments and a Tandy Color and a Commodore 64 before finally buying "the best" in 1985: an Apple IIc

You know what? PC's were totally WORTHLESS!

I dumped it all in 1986 & didn't come back until I bought my first modern PC in 1997 -- a GATEWAY & I couldn't believe WINDOWS!

I think it's fantastic, and, XP never freezes on me -- no more blue screens! I love it!

I LUV MS!

hmmm - did I steal my copy of windows? It was posted on a public file sharing site.

hmmm - did I steal the information to bypass the window "registration" because it was posted on a public web page?

it's all the SAME.

now STOP.

glassgirl, if Bill Gates is making up his own rules, then Adobe, Apple, IBM, and every other software company is doing the same thing. You don't buy any of their software, you lease it. Likewise, when you buy a video or DVD, you have restrictions on what you can do with it. You can't show a DVD and charge admission, for example.

There are many other examples of how you can pay money for something but have limited use.

Intellectual property is property.
