This amused me.
Greenspan in a Pisces..
>>
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Even when he is uncharacteristically blunt,
Federal Reserve (news - web sites) Chairman Alan Greenspan (news - web
sites) can still leave puzzlement in his wake.

The Fed chief is a master at confusing and obtuse language, even admitting on
occasion that he purposely seeks to muddy the waters with the media and
investors. Rumor has it his wife didn't even know he was proposing until his
third try.>>>>>

VeryModern, today I went into a bookstore, something I have done about weekly for decades, and entered talking to someone. When I looked up, there was a large purple book in my direct line of sight -- "The Only Astrology Book..." -- waiting for me! I have just begun to read and will probably be up all night. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

jps - great! Post a review! Other readers, other books - also.

For newcomers - here is a link where you can calculate your chart: (free)
http://www.astro.ch/cgi-bin/atlw3/aq.cgi?lang=e

Enter your city and then click on it from the list and change the data on the next screen.

You have to click "continue" a couple times and then at the bottom of the page is option "chart drawing".

I see that they also have free reports.
This is great if you are studying..
I clicked "short report" and it shows the current transits w/ interpretations and a concise list at the bottom.

The text is by Robert Hand, a renowned astrologer.

Click around. A huge amount of info - and then go from there. Click "personal portrait" and it gives little interpretations for each aspect in your chart. Limited BUT you can see what aspects you have. This is what people are selling all over the net for $20-100.

Sorry, I did not mention this before - I never clicked the links, and have not been to this site in years before this thread.

Where is everybody. I don't post, just read all the great things being said on this thread via e mail and have not seen any thing in a few days.
I've had a darn stressful Jan2001 and hope to heck February is going to be better, so it's nice to read all these things on this thread to take my mind off of all the other things happening.
So what's happening folks.

Hiya Joan, I am still here and I'm gearing up for another go around. What do we want to talk about?
Someone send me something tasty.

[email protected]

junque - though like I said I don't think about this, you made me do it.
It occurred to me that we must still be in the Aqe of Aquarius if such a thing exists because we are not terribly giving and self sacrificing --- Pisces.
Instead - we are detached and electronic -- Aquarius.

oh! And all the electronic millionaires? There are more Aquarian millionaires than any other sign.
That's a factoid.

Also, there is a guy/gal from Phoenix who sent their data last week with no info or introduction. I would be happy to do some work on you chart if you want to specify what you are interested in. Your chart is extremely complex - a profound knot. If I am going to work to untie it, I want to have some idea what I am looking for. A general overview of character in your case would be pretty much a joke. Too deep, too wide. Tell me where to focus and I will try to take it apart and lay it out for you.

I just got back from the bookstore, looking at "The Only Astrology Book You Will Ever Need," and according to that author, we entered the Age of Aquarius late in 2000.

VeryModern or junquemama: A question, when you have time.

I've been studying.

But there are two symbols on the AstroDienst aspect chart that I can't find the meaning of anywhere:

The first one looks like it means a 45-degree angle between two planets, but what is that called? (I have one such aspect between the Sun and Saturn, and one between the Sun and Venus.)

The second is about a 60-degree angle between Mercury and Pluto in my chart, but isn't a 60-degree angle called a sextile?

And what is the general meaning of these two aspects?

Thank you -

Hi SilkMoth - a sextile is a 60 degree angle. It is positive aspect.

A sextile is Water with Earth or Air with Fire - they compliment each other.

Conjunction 0 degrees
Semi-Sextile 30 degrees (think 1/2 a sextile)
Sextile 60 degrees
Quintile 72 degrees (minor aspect)
Square 90 degrees
Trine 120 degrees
Quincunx 150 degrees
Opposition - 180 degrees

The aspects in bold are the most compelling - the others more subtle and can be left go for the beginner for the sake of simplicity.

Judge the power of an aspect by the "orb" - how close the aspect is. When planets form aspects within a degree of two this is more compelling than aspects 6 or 8 or 10 degrees out of orb. This is true in a natal chart or with cross aspects between charts. Your Sun square mine for example.

Junquemama, you are still ahead of me!

Last autumn I was training new teachers to take over some of my beginning classes. One teacher was really concerned because she did not have a great deal of experience, and I told her, "Don't worry. You only have to be one step ahead of them at the beginning!"

What I'm doing is slowly, laboriously, step by step, building a reading of my own chart. In the process, I'm learning how to read the aspect cross chart as well as the major properties of the houses, the signs, and a bit about the interactions among the planets as they show up in this one chart. (I have some unusual groupings and patterns of planets, I've found. I always knew I was a little on the odd side.)

And because I live inside my own head, I hope I'm a reasonable judge of what applies and what doesn't.

At the very least, it's been really interesting!

SilkMoth - I just peeped at your chart.
The two major aspects in your chart are the Venus Pluto conjunction and the Mars Moon opposition. This because they are very tight, within minutes (less than 1 degree) in the case of the Moon and Mars.

The other thing more subtle and advanced is the TRINE between Jupiter and Saturn in your chart.
This correlates with the Jupiter Saturn conjunction in the sky at the moment ~~ like I was talking to nobs and mimigigi about. That is your stage for this event in the sky.

I see it playing itself out ....
N Saturn in the 1st house
Assertive (1st house, Aries) Learning (Saturn)
trining 9th house Jupiter -
Expand your horizons...
in Gemini --
READ, with the MIND

Cool, eh?

Amazingly cool!

Also, the Mars - Moon opposition taught me a lot about that intensity/zapping people thing I mentioned way back when. Mars gets a little aggressive and takes over social interactions.

I ran across a mention of the Jones patterns, and mine is a fairly strong Bucket. What's your opinion of that scheme of interpretation? (I can't see that it applies very well, but I haven't dug into it much either.)

The grand trine is the first thing that I saw when I (totally ignorant) looked at the chart when it came up on the screen first time. Just an amazing pattern - it HAD to mean something!

I'm on my way to check out that Venus - Pluto conjunction.

Good afternoon VeryModern.Another beautimus Day in Texas.Speaking of Aquarians...My friend Ann(deceased)Always got the last word in,She was the debate captain of her high school. So when she made the statement the United States was Gemini and the cause of all our ills,I would not question her findings.
Thus, for piece of mind. She loved verbial
debates.....I wanted to take a nap...Why go on and on over a subject that no one wins, when you can better use that time to nap. She was an excellent friend,And always on top of anything new in the fields of science, politics, fashion, health.Always in a hurry and always late.It is known trait of Aquarius to throw the party of the year and disappear in the middle of the entertainment.
They seem to remember a spot of something on the bottom of the fridge or decided this is a good time to clean the back bathroom or better yet a good time for a nap.And everyone
should not notice their absence.(detached)
She would have loved meeting you,Heck who knows....Maybe she has.
I love Aquarians,But we need to move in another sign(Age Of)Pieces might work real well after all we have seen and been thru.

Another bingo on the conjunction, and one you told me about when you first looked at my chart.

Strong, dramatic artistic abilities. Magnetic ability to attract romantic partners. As you said, "falling in love with you is a life changing experience. Not just the beloved, but for your self."

Thunder and lightning, and creativity in high gear today. There's going to be a major art piece coming out of this. Soon.

junque - I never heard that about the sex, very amusing.
You know Aquarians love to shock, but do you know that they hate to BE shocked. It really pisses them off when you are weirder than they are. It actually repels them, they cannot get away from you fast enough.
If you pay attention you can see them do the shadow side of Leo (the opposite sign) getting cranky when they are not the oddest one.

My mother is a double Aquarius and my father has 5 planets in Aquarius.
That pretty much explains why I am what I am, wouldn't you say?

My father was always suing the establishment. The school, and the city for starters. My mother said things like in the other thread "you are going to be a dog in Milwaukee in your next life".
In my family we were pretty much taught that being dull was a crime against humanity.

Btw - Silk Moth and junque - thanks for jump starting the thread. I thought we were kind of stalled.

Maui - you have a Uranus transit to your Jupiter and Venus and so no doubt you are getting shocking happenings. The smooth sailing is "overall" and I stand by it.

The shocks you are experiencing now are going to beneficial to you, there is no doubt about it. What is probably distressing you is that it is out of your control - but hey. It is a common happening in life where things turn out better than we could have ever hoped or predicted and this is what I expect (am confident)is going to be the case.

You are mega Cardinal and so want to drive all the time, but you will be better off and have an easier time if you adopt a detached (Uranus) attitude towards what is going on because it is beyond your abilities to control and you are going to like the future much better anyway.

Expect more change, and expect it to come FAST. Believe it or not, you are restricted and repressed at the moment and what is happening is you are being freed. Sorry for the chaos that is part of the process. You are going to look back (in the near future) and say "sure am glad to be out of that."

Maui - the idea that you will benefit is a guarantee.
Short term you will be aware of this.
Longer term you will cringe at the idea "what if what happened, didn't and I was still..."

It is around this time you will say "that chick knew what she was doing".

Thanks urza1928, I don't want it to fade away either.

Here is an update on some of the various personalties on this thread.

I am still awaiting the arrival of my death defying hair lady, who is still trying to get here from AOL.
I heard the longer version of her accident - head on collision with a drunk driver @ 75 mph late at night - her husband, herself, her daughter and the dog in the car and they all walked away.
The impact knocked a wheel off the car, broke the axel, and they spun and rolled and rolled and rolled and rolled, and rolled all fully conscious and having a conversation.
This, with glass flying everywhere.
She tells me that her hair, her eyelids and her mouth was full of glass, but they were talking ' "we're alive, we're alive" and the vehicle rolled.

They came to a stop on the middle of the highway - headlights out of course and right in the path of two oncoming cars - sitting ducks in a crunched beyond belief vehicle.

The people in another car hopped out and were able to wave the drivers to a stop in the total darkness, and she tells me they were braced for impact but heard the screeching brakes. as they were spared *again*.
Because nothing weird (like them surviving this crash) is ever just "a little weird" - one of the paramedics on the scene was a friend they vacation with, and this is not a small town (metro Denver) by a shot.

The astrology (short version) of her accident is this:
T Uranus (sudden, unexpected) is squaring her Leo rising (body) that he Pluto (die) conjunct.
The stage is the 11th house (unexpected) where N Uranus (unexpected is conjunct N Mars (twisted metal/speed/paramedics) in Cancer (family).

Her Solar return (chart of the year) has a packed 8th house (death and rebirth) and also has Pluto conjunct the ascendent repeating the theme in her natal chart.

interlude
junque if you ever see a SR that looks like the person's natal chart, you can predict with confidence a remarkable year.

end of interlude

The thing here is that Pluto and the 8th house is perfectly capable of walking out of the rubble unscathed.
She tells me she is coming here to post. She has never posted anywhere before, so I cross my fingers, because she will have to learn how. She is an awesome gal so it will be a treat if she manages.

More news on the same kind of front.
My non writing Scorpio friend B also tells me that he plans to post on this thread.
This would be an event not only because he does not write but because he does not have a computer and has never been online
He has a friend who can get him here (he thinks). I told him he would need a screen name which amused him. Like he would actually be joining the rest of the world online. He says he has some things to say, so I am waiting to hear them.

The Taurus that works with my husband who had the heart problem is back on the job today after surgery, and glad of it according to early reports.

mimigigi and nobs, I am wondering how you two are doing, since you were both trying to launch and would love to hear from anyone else with an update or whatever.

Bottom line - I am still here.
I am waiting for other peoples energy to show itself, while simultaneously working to get my life the way I want it.

bruised knee, there were no other injuries.
The scorpio kicked in full blast after that wreck.Never, ever, trusted anyone at the wheel of a car.(except me)

Hiya junque! Your accident sounds brutal also. I was amazed that there was a conversation - I have never been in a major accident. Her daughter just happened to pick the dog up and way hugging him (small dog) just before impact and she held the dog throughout the whole ordeal.

The major dilemma in the sky right now is Mars opposite Saturn and both square Uranus forming a nasty T-square.

Saturn on Mars repressed anger, Uranus = sudden eruption and the result is the guy in Chicago who Suddenly (Uranus) shot people (mars) at work (Saturn).

People should take care when Mars and Uranus afflict each other and add Saturn and that goes double. Increased risk of accidents and violence.
Most at risk are the fixed signs Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus at the late degrees and this passes quickly (days) as Mars moves out of orb.

Beautiful Muriel - thanks.

Anyone have a story?

Here is mine.

I have really enjoyed this full moon period. The FM is conjunct my Venus (money) and I bought a breast (Moon) cancer drug early this week on the advice of financial astrologer Henry Weingarten and have enjoyed a 50% increase since (CLN).

"Increased Chattiness" aside, I consider the full moon to illuminate things and so with the Moon conjunct my Venus opposed T Sun Uranus conjunction I quite received sudden and blinding insight - into the way and how and why to revolutionize (Uranus) my appearance (Venus) for the future (Uranus).
I blinked and it is like the yellow brick road is laid out in front of me. That means I have most everything I need already (the shoes), and am sure to stumble on the rest quite naturally. Very exciting week.
