VM, I am going to have to go out into the real world and find a job. I have not had to do so for 13 years. Tell me if you can. Is there a good time in the semi near future for me to do so?

Maui!
Waui!
I am thrilled and flattered, embarrassed and proud. I am grinning like a 10 year old
Thank you!
snowy - what are you most interested in? Yourself? Relationships?
I would get a few more books under my best before I tried to attack transits and the reason is because nothing happens that is not in the natal chart and so you need to be able to really understand what "Mars in the 5th sq Venus" can do before you can figure out what it will do.
Besides the other books I mentioned -
"Astro Essentials, Planets in Signs, Houses, and Aspects' Martha Pottenger has sections on all this.
Skip the dense diagrams and just look up placements in your chart, people you know and it starts to come together. This reading is drier, but it is all there, this is a good all around "cookbook" of all the placements and aspects.
Another similar is Isabel M Hickey "Astrology A Cosmic Science".
This book is more advanced in that it is a bit more subtle - has her interpretation of the aspects (like Moon sextile Jupiter or whatever) but she also runs through the wheel in the this way.
She writes about "Taurus rising, and then Gemini on the 2nd house, Cancer on the 3rd, etc. for all the rising signs. Her writing is very thoughtful - and the point here is that houses that do not have planets in them are read by the sign on the cusp i.e. Aries on the 7th behaves like Mars (the Aries planet) in the 7th. and so if you read something like this you will begin to expand.
Providing this is not some high dollar book these days (I see the "Secrets from a Stargazer's notebook" little paperback book is upwards of $30 used (wow!), it is worth buying for just the section in the back - little interpretations of aspects and transits that are supremely well thought out. Also, she has a section on Transits, besides the interpretation, just a general chapter on how they work. This is a very experienced astrologer telling it like it is in old school fashion - like every word she writes had 25 or 40 years experience behind it.
The idea here is to get a few people's outline of how things work and then apply to people you know.
Another is "Planets in Aspect Understanding Your Inner Dynamics" Robert Pelletier. This is a comprehensive aspect book - each of them fleshed out and something at this level would be necessary at some point if you wanted to keep studying. It would be considered a reference book, which in the end - all 3 of these would be.
I will find some titles for synastry as soon as I get a chance. Also, do post back and tell me what is most facinating to you because this would help me a lot in naming the right book.
Rawbunzel - thanks for your heroic effect at the scroll problem. I just saw your question and took a quick peek with the strong wish I would not have bad news to relay and I do NOT. Big Relief on that one
Anyway - let me get going this morning and then I will write properly.
Maui thanks again - I love it and that's Venus in Leo talkin'.
It is like her name in lights, and this is right up her alley

Okay rawbunzel - you are not going to have any problem finding a job. None at all, and not only that, it is going to bring you way more benefit that you imagine.
In spite of your fear, what you are going to find is that you will be completely energized. You are going to find respite from everything you are facing *outside* of the house.
This is no offense to your family in the least - this is personal to you and here is why.
You have JUPITER in ARIES on the midheaven (Midheaven = MC = public, career, the opposite of the home) Trine Mars in Leo in the 1st (Aries house).
What's that mean?
Where Jupiter lies in a chart is where we experience (and need) the most Freedom. It is the "I am a wild horse" section of your life. It is also where we get lucky and are able to break out and push out limits, expand our selves, and just in general reap reward that can't be found any other way.
In Aries of course - it is on fire and super charged and in your case trine very well placed 1st house Mars in Leo (read great sign for mars, great house for mars - IOW - you will be successful in short order.
So... the reason you are afraid is the Moon Saturn of course, and another explanation for being home so long is all your planets below the horizon in your chart (read private) except Jupiter. The upshot here is that you have to leave the house to collect your prizes - but get this loud and clear when you do EVERYTHING is going to go your way.
Yes.
Okay - so this is your natal promise, but do you want more support?
You got it.
T Jupiter in Gemini aspects your Mars Jupiter beautifully (going on now) and that will lift you up soon as you walk out the door.
T Jupiter will be joined by T Saturn in Gemini in April and this will hold you up for the next 2 years after which time you will be running at full speed on your own considerable power.
Note that this is the same Saturn that is slamming all your Virgo - so understand that OUT in PUBLIC (the midheaven) as well as ASSERTING yourself AGGRESSIVELY (Mars and the 1st house) is where the relief is.
Also note that grabbing this ring simultaneously forces you to face your fear which always, always alleviates Saturn pain and the relief when you do this is quite immediate and remarkable.
There you go!
If you have some idea of slaving away at a lowly job - think again.
Your "job" is going to be your freedom.
I am serious.
I am also really glad you asked this.
edit because I spelled your name wrong - sorry!

Rawbunzel - a couple more thoughts.
First thing is that you are fabulous, it is just hard to relate to that, feel that way when under such pressure.
You will be fabulous and feel fabulous on the other side of all these experiences you are having now.
I also wanted to offer a gross / practical example of how this other thing works with the job in case I was too vague.
A job is not going to make your sister *not sick* but you may very well meet someone at work who gives you a superb perspective on the situation, or supports you in a way that you cannot yet imagine.
However it happens (and it will happen like that on many many levels and in many ways) you are going to be very grateful for being pushed out there and over the edge. Sag / Jupiter is a winged horse and so you will learn that you can fly.
I am right.
You will see.
edit bold spelling errors again.

back from the gym and I realized I missed you question Rawbunzel.
Regarding timing - nobody is going to get much of anywhere with Jupiter and Saturn retro until the end of the month. This is a time to do what you are doing, contemplate and plan and incubate and gather inspiration.
End of the month - embark on your journey and be confident that you are going to have a fast result.
Jupiter (opportunity) in Aries (quick) trine Mars in Leo (make that real quick).
IOW you will be snapped up in short order.
Okay - so what is your dream job..
This is kind of dum - but not really if you can grasp what I am saying in a large way. My point here is to get your Jupiter going and so we give it what it wants.
Jupiter likes to be outside and unconfined. This is true literally (especially) but also in a broader sense. For example if you were made to stand in a toll booth you would be inspired to shoot at the passing cars
Jupiter likes to teach / higher education.
Aries also likes to be outside, (not many wars are fought inside) and you have considerable positive male energy here (as opposed to the rest of your chart) to channel.
btw Aries is also a cop - and likes to be in charge, like all the cardinal signs.
Okay - so here is the dum / not so dumb part.
You would get extreme benefit from something as simple a being a crossing guard at your kids school. I mean it, I am trying to illustrate how all these things can come together.
My point in doing this is that I know in many ways you feel kind of hapless and this really is an area in your life where you can put it all together.
See, in this scenario, you are outside, acting with a high mind, the cars are Aries and you are stopping and starting traffic at a SCHOOL. Of the same flavor, my daughter's school has people who watch the playground. Anything doing with sports where you supervise would also be very good.
Okay - I hope you are getting my meaning here which is not to suggest that you are limit to being a playground helper in anyway. I am trying to suggest that a job that brings some of these elements into play is going to wake up Jupiter and lift you up and bring you benefit beyond your expectation.
If your job is not physical - then make sure that it challenges (Aries) your ideals (Jupiter) or philosophy (Jupiter) in some way.
IOW you must aggressively (Aries) seek (Jupiter) to expand your horizons (Jupiter).
Another way to do this is to work with/for people of another culture. btw
Myself - I have always liked physical work. I may have a brain, but I do not care - I like hard labor. I can look at a prison chain gang and I swear I see some appeal. I am serious. My point is that this is my Jupiter and never mind what other people think of that - I am lifted up by this sort of work.
Realize that Jupiter is a bit about God (dcj - Jupiter in the 1st house preach) - so in my case, I find God in hard work with my physical body. In your case, you find God via "Aries career", so you see that your reason for getting out there transcends money.
Again. You need a male-ish type job, meaning you are running your own show. Your Virgo likes to work behind the scenes and make someone else look good, but Aries says bull**** to that and we are looking for the relief to the Virgo at the moment.
Last, your competence will be readily recognized by everyone besides yourself so get what you want, and please -- not too may limits.

Hey VM - it's me, Muriel. Remember the house across the street that we were toying with buying, and you said "don't do it" and I said "ok". Well, my husband didn't hear you. So we are going to look at it again today (he was sick Thursday night). His birthday is 10/11/53, 10:30 a.m., Toledo, OH. Although you said that I shouldn't consider this house (unless it's to be fixed up and sold), what about HIM? Help!?
posted on January 14, 2001 08:43:19 AM new
I guess that "nope" was for me. Mark said we'll only do it if we can get them way down on their price. He's a Bob Villa nut, and he and his dad/brothers aren't happy unless they're knocking down walls. This would definitely be a "fixer upper", but we wouldn't turn around and sell it because we want to be on the lake. It would probably end up being a lateral move, once we sold our house. I'm just jabbering here, VM. I believe what you're telling me, but I've got this husband who is itching to knock down walls.... thanks, though.

Your husband has T Saturn opp his Moon.
I would not buy a (bigger, more extravagant house) in this time frame, it is certain to become a burden.
His chart says the same thing as yours. Down size - or for investment to make money (immediately) is okay. Does not seem like this is the case here, I don't know any other way to say it.
If I can be so bold, I think you would both be better served by asking yourself what you are trying to run from, because this house is not gonna do the trick.

Ok, thanks kiddo.
I think my hubby just has that urge to do some home remodeling, which he and his family love to do. Our house is new and needs nothing done. And even if it did, we don't have enough land to expand on. My only reason for wanting this house is to be on the lake, as I said.
So I'm not sure we're running from anything, more like hubby is chasing a hobby and I'm along for the ride.

Muriel - the decision is yours of course, I was just answering the question as asked based on your charts.
Best of luck whatever you decide to do!

for fun
Mick Jagger
Gemini rising = skinny - able to quip - looks like a boy
Taurus Moon = appetites, sensuality, also VOICE
Leo Sun - uh... cha?
Marlon Brando - double Aries - raw male energy.
Sag rising - his body expanded, yes/no? Plus the love of foreign women - always on some island
Venus in Taurus - sensual appetite again

Books:
"The Twelve Houses" Howard Sasportas
In depth analysis of all the planets through the houses by a master astrologer.
"Planets in Synasty" E.W. Neville
I never hear of this book and I don't know why. Excellent book on synastry - includes interpretation of one persons planets falling in the other person's houses. This is the only book I know of that deals with this technique in depth. A great resource.
"Astrology for Lovers" Liz Greene
There are lots of FLUFFY books on this subject - this is not one of them. Liz Greene is tops in the the field. This is a marvelous book (all of her books are A+++++++). Has sections for each sign, The man, the woman, the myth, the shadow, the lover.. Jungian influence.

VM, Thank you for some good news [for a change ] I figured you would be sorry to see me here asking another question after the last round but decided to give it a go anyway and am glad I did. Truly, my life is not nearly as bad as my chart must make it seem and my family although obsessed about certain things can be interesting at times. Some of us, myself and my mother especially ,have a bit of psychic ability [not much and it has to do with people we are very close to...no police mysteries solved here!] Some of us are quite eccentric in funny ways so we are not always arguing amongst ourselves! We can have fun too!
The bit up ^^^ there about not being "fabulous" was said in fun. Although I do not feel particularly fabulous right at this moment I have been fabulous and I expect to feel that way again one day.
Now, once again you are right on about the kind of work I am good at...well except I would suck at being crossing guard! I have always done "mens" work because it is much more interesting [as well as profitable] to me.[my daughter follows my footsteps and is a electrician] I started in high school doing "womens" work, office stuff and the like and was bored to tears just sitting all day long.
I enjoyed my warehouse work [yes physical labor!] but injured my back and could no longer do that so went into the inspecting part of the aircraft industry where I worked for many years.I always have done well at my work and moved ahead readily. I am smart and industrious! I am always very good at anything I get into.
So then, why am I so afraid to get back out there and do this? I am terrified! I am also worried that if I get a job that pays well [and I know I can do that even if I have to work up to it] I will leave my husband[or better yet make him leave me]. Why do I say that? Well, I always thought that if I have to go to work and take care of the house and the critters and all the other things that he would be in the way and make more work and I would dump him like a hot potato. Now I do not know if this is true but that is how I feel. I love him but there is that "I want to be free" thing going on in my head a lot.

Oh yeah, and I don't think your life if "bad".
I think that your life is challenging at this time. Has been and will be for awhile. Like I said, all your planets are bunched and so periods both good or not so good are extended.
Things like "face your fear" are easy to say (or to write) but in practice, maybe not so easy (although inevitable).
I am very glad that you work like a man.
I know it is right for you but I never know (especially in these circumstances) how far off their mark a person may be living.
I do not mean this personal to you in any way.
Just that lots of people go live the life their family dictates and most families do not tell their daughters to work in traditional male roles. Even today, 2001, this is true.
