Oh yeah junque - on the party situation, I agree on all counts.
Gem and Aquarius are best at a party, followed by Pisces provided they are not overwhlelmed, but in whatever case - they provide color and I would not advise having a party without them.
Sag is fun but does not stay long, they are passing through.
The Scorpios are standing back to wall, often by the exit and scoping for a meal. If they see one, they will pull it in. They rarely cross the room.
Virgo is wasted at a party. You have got to talk to a Virgo one on one at which point you will be flabbergasted at how much they know. Hopefully they find a Taur and they become entranced with each other.

Just a note -
Jupiter and Saturn are currently Rx (retrograde).
Way back in the thread, I posted that the conjunction of these planets correlated with change of power (new administration) also bring stock prices down to earth (Jupiter - big inflated value meets Saturn - planet of reality)more, more, more.
Anyway - we are currently "hanging like a loose tooth" until they both turn direct which occurs end of January (by the 27th I think it is) which is also when the new Pres will start running the new show and we will see what is in store. IOW get ready to get going - the train is pulling into the station...

Good morning VeryModern,I hope some stock players saw your information about the stock market, would be more stable the end of the month.Thats a nice gift.
posted on January 8, 2001 09:17:36 AM new
Yes junque - there is no hope of anything improving or stabilizing these next 2 weeks.
This is true all over the place.
Take the Yahoo fee debacle (my bias).
Assuming they go through with it (you can't with these planets Rx) the effect (also to ebay) will begin to be apparent end of the month and it is like an army marching at that point. Going where it's goin' and not looking back.
Trend 1st week of Feb will be very telling, and when these planets emerge from their "shadow" some weeks out - there will be no doubt the tone. We will be in our new land as a collective. History being made.

VeryModern,A teacher question:If you were to have the files of 3 inmates,Horrible crimes committed.Would say...A rapist...robber...
Murder..Show up in the first houses?...Or as in real life, hidden from view? And in the lesser houses? The rising persona fools all around,Where does the deviate come into play?
And without knowing the crimes commited,Would you be able to pick from the files,Who did what? The Robber, rapiest,And the murderer? Or
is there a pattern in the crime for that sign?I know some signs are geared for anger more then others. (Without knowing their sign,,,I get a warning buzzer,If around a slipped nut. This is a built in warning device,Came on delivery.)
And now we have a full moon again,Where did everyone go?

Present.
I've been lurking. I did read with interest the sag rising information. I have finally found out through research my birthtime and looked it up on astro.com. I am a sag rising. Interestingly enough I almost always wear a pony tail even tho I look better with my hair down! I fret if my hair is flopping around!

Wow~I just tore open the letter from my home state~And..... my birthtime is exactly 12:25pm~
Dear VM, do you have the rest or should I resend the rest of the info?
I would love to know more~does this change anything that you shared before?
Thank you thank you!!

mimigigi - resend the info please, I have a faulty filing system (me).
junque - it is a total eclipse of the Moon @ 19 Cancer.
(heads up Cancer, Capricorn, Libra, Aries - resolution of chaos is impending)
I don't think I don't think I could pick a criminal junque.
The reason is because like you always hear, criminals and those who chase them down are very similar animals.
This kind of addresses the question of personal choice, which I think most definitely exists.
It is akin to having POWER which almost has a negative connotation, but in fact is just energy and can be used for good or for ill. See, in the culture we say "power corrupts" but forget that it also "heals".
What you have with astrology is a map of energy. You can quite accurately describe a person's energy as well as the energy they will encounter but...
If I can see that someone is to have a violent encounter in "May" for example, it is impossible (for me) to know if they will be the victim or the perp without more info, such as PAST HISTORY.
What this teaches is that you can never count someone out.
For example, say someone grows up in egregious circumstances. Horribly egregious even.
A percentage of them will go on to wreak havoc in the rest of our lives.
Another group of them will overcome adversity and become role models for the rest of us.
A 3rd group will opt out (suicide, in one form or the other) young.
A 4th group will struggle to lead a normal life, deny their considerable energy, and die young of illness from being so pent up.
See what I mean?
Picking the crime might be able to be done - I have never tried.
One obstacle to success would be that at it's base, most any crime is about power and control and so I would expect to see aspects in all charts to indicate a problem like this. This means that if I were able to do it, it would be via other details such as "crime took place in the home, or in public" or something like that and by reading the houses of the chart. IOW - I would try to go through the side door.
Thanks for posting.
I do get nervous about my voice that keeps going, and going, and going..

Thanks dejavu
Trouble is, I have no perspective. Intellectually I know that the majority of people in this country feel that astrology is a load of bunk.
Then I write page and page and page and page and page, and I cannot imagine how it is perceived because of my own reality which quit *wondering* about astrology 1/4 a century ago!
I will say, that I hope that at the bare minimum some people have learned via this thread that astrology is not about a sun signs. This is what makes me kind of crazy. People dismissing astrology when they are no position to judge since their knowledge on the subject is 1" thick.
Also, that I include the "astrology" when I write so that there is no smoke and mirrors about this. I got no crystal ball here - as I told coda many pages back, anyone can learn this, and the benefits are enormous.

Oh, and on the Jupiter / Saturn they move out of their shadow (plus Venus turns direct) weekend of April 21st and at that time the train will kick it into high gear (if trains have gears available - I dunno)
At this time, you want to be positioned comfortably as possible, and get cozy with the cards you are holding because you will have been dealt your hand..
If you are waiting for yesterday to come back -- uh... not such a good idea.

Hi VM...
I'm still interested in your opinion of why the position of the planets at our birth effects the events in our lives and the nature of our personalities. Drives me crazy(er) when I don't understand the whys of things...

Hi toke - the short answer is "I don't know" but since I tend to go on and on, I will.
I don't think the planets *make* us do anything, I believe that we are part of a whole, and not independent from the heavens.
I do think that there is an order in the universe and the code exists in the movement of the planets and for all I know - other places as well, and that is all comes together in a most excellent way, and it is under our noses.
I do not think that this is any more odd than someone stating that all living matter is composed of little strands although a concept like that would have been scoffed at, at some point in history. Remember when the world was flat?
Myself, I find the idea that there is no order in the universe to be completely ludicrous, just completely outrageously impossible to believe.
If it helps put it in a better frame of reference - I am of the idea that if a man beats his wife in Texas tonight, this effects every last one of us, and if you can swallow that - surely a huge mass in the sky is not impotent.
So astrology is old.
It is not from the 1960's as some people think
Someone like me studies what people have learned before and takes the study forward, no different than modern science builds on the breakthroughs and failures of the work of prior generations.
By now, I hope it is apparent by my writing, that although I am not an artist and I am math impaired - I can in fact observe very well, and I can tell you I have been watching people places and things with an eye on the sky for many years and all I have is an overwhelming body of evidence that this correlation exists.
I do not expect in my lifetime to see astrology more accepted than it is today, but it is of no consequence to me. This is a life's work and passion, and I promise you that anyone who hangs out with me for any amount of time learns very well that charts can be read and events predicts.
Why does it work?
I don't know.
My Grandfather was doing the Feng Shui thing in the 40's. He was also a vegan when it was decidedly not in favor and would quite happily stand on his head in the meat department of the grocery store at 70 and then 80 YO, just to pop upright and explain to the shocked shoppers why they should change their diets. Yes. I saw him do this at least 50 times - he was trying to show people something they could not fathom.
That was then.
Today, I see Dr. Weil et all and the concepts my Grandfather taught me have reached critical mass.
He is dead.
I expect the same thing will happen with astrology.
I will be right, but I will be dead before everyone knows it

I am still thinking about this, since I barely never have and it occurred to me that human beings being aligned with planets is no more odd than a brain making a heart beat or a foot move - all of which was not understood at some point in time.
Took more than a couple years to figure out how that worked too
But all the while, it was working. "It" is not dependent on us understanding (or accepting it).
One astrologer (Tracy Marks again) used to say that you did not have to pay attention to transits if you did not mind the universe burning your house down.
Myself, I prefer to align with the universe. It makes my life better.

Well toke, faith doesn't have anything to do with it. As I said, I have been studying for many years (30!) and have amassed a body of knowledge.
"Praying" is faith.
Marking positions of planets and matching them to events is science.
posted on January 8, 2001 04:54:49 PM new
Oh yes...I see that you prove to yourself the process works, but you have to take the why of it on faith, since you haven't found an explanation for it.
I have a similar experience every time I board an airplane, and it has been explained to me...
posted on January 8, 2001 05:13:46 PM new
It would help my understanding to learn some of this for myself, but I don't know if my mind works that way. A lot of it seems quite intuitive. I know you say it's science...and I see that...but the interpretation seems highly individual and to require talent.
posted on January 8, 2001 05:18:27 PM new
toke - you are correct. It is a science like psychology (at this point).
Results vary by skill of practitioner!
Anyone can call themselves an astrologer.
There is a segment of the astrological community that wants to institute accreditation for astrologers.
Other think not, and there we are stuck today.
posted on January 8, 2001 05:29:54 PM new
LOL! You are most definitely not stuck!
Hmmm. Here's a question for you. Is this a good time for me to accept a live (and long-lived - a baby parrot) gift from a good friend? Would he get along well with my other parrot? Is this an impossible question to answer???
edited to say: It wouldn't be until after the weather warms up some, so he wouldn't freeze to death in the plane.....

oh, and toke this is another reason why I am writing keywords and the like. To illustrate how things get put together, and of course we are only skimming the top but the concepts are static.
A square is a square.
Mars is Mars.
Like I wrote way back - if all this info is loaded in a head it eventually starts to gel and then holy smokes batman, everything starts to make sense.
There is a learning curve like everything else, and of course not everyone is cut out to master it. Hey. I have no intention of studying about that plane in the air, or researching if trains have "high gear." Pulllease spare me.
For me this is the study of people and relationships and what is interesting is that like I have mentioned before, most advanced astrologers move on to "horary" which holds no appeal to me at all.
What is horary astrology?
They ask a question (Where are my lost keys?) and then cast a chart for the moment of the question and then determine where the keys are (in the basement in a desk drawer). This is a HUGE arm of astrology that I know virtually nothing about aside from "step back and watch a master" because it is truly a marvel when practiced with skill.
Remember the guy who killed Versace? I was emailing in a group of 12 (the signs again) astrologers at the time (Cunanan, that was his name). Anyway, we were hot on that case, and it was the horary astrologer who cast a chart as the end of all that drama was coming about it and it told him very clearly that this guy was already "dead" in the boat.
Of course that was confirmed shortly after, but it was remarkable because we were all waiting for the police to find what Bill already did.
Anyway - see this is a very cool thing too. Very interesting. However, I will never learn it!
EOBO

oh gosh toke - I don't know. I guess I figure a gift from a friend is a good thing.
Anyway, your chart in general is in such good shape I would think you can act with abandon, anything you want
Hey.
Look at it this way.
You win the lawsuit on the home thing and this bird comes and disrupts your home.
In that case, you won't have to move to achieve the universe's desired effect
Really toke, you are in great shape.
Do what you want because rarely are things so favorable.
You have a ton of Libra.
Supported by
Pluto in Sag
Jupiter going into Gemini
Saturn going into Gemini
Neptune in Aquarius
Uranus in Aquarius.

Well, toke - the sole planet under attack in your chart right now is VENUS in Scorpio under affliction from T uranus and so the money is changing but you will come out just fine.
Business sucks for everyone right now, includeing Neiman Marcus and Walmart and as a matter of fact you will be one of the first to figure out how to make it all work for you.
mimigigi - I got your data, thanks
Still a Cancer rising, Cap Moon but the houses changed and now I know that if you were a man you'd be hung
I hope that is okay to say.
I am feeling a bit dare-devilly tonight, and when Auntie Mame says "hung" she means "hungover" and so who knows what I mean...
