Maui,

I guess I missed your thread last year.

I just read what you said about krs and read it as 63 instead of 6'3". I was thinking to myself that I had sure been fooled because I didn't think him nearly that age.
Krs, would be Spanky of the Little Rascals. Always stirring to see what will happen and I can just imagine him sitting back so proud of a thread he started just to see the reactions people will have and if it stirs the pot he is all the more delighted. (but not mean)

Let's see, you are easy. Young, beautiful, sarong of course so you must be on some South Pacific Island as the person who greets each person with a beautiful flower lei.

Enchanted,

Moi, Betty Crocker? Don't think I have ever seen her picture but maybe it's best that I don't. Oh, dh does the waffles/pancake thing. His contribution at the campgrounds and funny you should mention it. He mixed up a batch for breakfast last night since D bought some blueberry syrup from the Cracker Barrel last night.

You make me think of a beautiful woman with dark long hair long flowing formal dancing with some stud gliding around the dance floor to the music of, Some Enchanted Evening played by one of the big bands that we no longer get to see.

Nobs,

I don't have names but she is my soul sister and one of the most beautiful people on this earth. Oh, I know. Someone used it but I have to choose it too because of her deep, raspy, sexy voice, I'll say Katherine Hepburn, one of my favorite actresses in ..darn! Can't think of the name of the movie but I have been wanting to see it. Humphrey Bogart played in it. Oh, I know! African Queen?

Rawbunzel,

The woman in the ivory tower with long golden hair let down through the garret(?) window just waiting for her prince charming.

dcj,

An angel in disguise. Her sweetness flows but the impishness is always behind the smile.

Oddish,

My secret angel and such a political rascal. One of "those" on the other side of the aisle who I can only agree to disagree but with such sweetness that we often find agreement. I know she has to be a closet democrat.:lol

plsmith,

For some reason Ghandi comes to mind. I can't think of the woman's first name now but wise and looking for the new and old.

Earl,

My knight in shining armor.

Hellcat,

One of my absolute favorites with a Perry Mason mind and a flair to the dramatic but always right on target and as a prosecuter can skin the underwear off any opponent. She does this as Lauren Bacall.

Ross,

Another knight that for a cause will fight to the death to champion his cause.

kitsch,

This one is easy. Joan of Arc, brave, strong and daring. Never count her down because she will come out on top.

edited: forgot to add Lauren Bacall's name

Beth as Lareun Bacall!!! YES!!! Thats her! But petite, tiny, a whirling dervish

Stockticker, thanks for finding my old thread. Funny how pictures change in ones mind after awhile, isnt it? From Charleton Hestin/Moses to George C. Scott/Patton, Greta to Lauren, etc. Some have stayed the same image, some have changed a bit as I got to know them better. Oh, and thanks for the image of me beautiful. I wished! I do have the long hair, but its gray now since I decided to go au natual, lol, and I do live in my tank tops and sarongs. Barry(He will always be my studmuffin)Barris, stays the same in my head....my munchkin

Like Femme, I don't put faces to the posters here. However, I do tend to have impressions about how happy or unhappy posters are in their personal lives.

I remember last year the biggest revelation I had about AW posters was the number who talked about being depressed, to the point of taking medication. It did provide some insights as to why those posters usually posted posts indicating discontent or unhappiness.

This year I've been surprised by the number of posters who have talked about coping with serious physcial illnesses. What has surprised me even more is that those posters generally DON'T post unhappy posts.

As far as pictures which have been posted, the only one that really surprised me was SgtMike's, posted about a year ago I think.

I believe I saw networker 67 was suspended from posting on another thread so that is why you don'y see any response here. I also see him as the MalcolmX without the natural hair.
The sort that never seems to sleep. Probably a big coffee drinker.
SgtMike - I see as the General in Dr. Strangelove who is bothered by phone calls from his girlfriend when in meeting with the president. Unnaturally earnest. Flags on all the walls. Mailbox stuffed with urgent political warnings everyday from organizations with convoluted names.
HCQ - I see as the laziest woman in the world from some movie I can't remember - sitting in a huge bed with every comfort organized, but with computer keyboard and attack pig and a feminized version of the Terminator
in attendance. Very bright and kind of weary of all the slow people.
Iamabrit I see as the slim well dressed Englishman - probably with a precise little moustache - pinstripes definatly pinstripes.
And his kids peek in the doorway to watch Dad work on the computer from a respectfull distance.
krs - I see as thin, very thin because he won't leave the computer to eat or anything.
A nervous person who repeats things over and over because nobody seems to understand what he is saying.....and he must explain.
Probater I see as a computer nerd with no life and 300 ID's and an uncanny look of a troll.

Oh and by the way, I agree with networker67 most of the Auction Watch Comunity isn't capable of intelligently discussing race issues.

The problem was that Networker67 didn't want to have an intelligent discussion on that issue. He/she wanted a monologue. No dissenting opinions were to be tolerated & any given were immediately denounced at "racist."

Now here you are back again in again, Networker67, with a new name & once more haranguing us. But the rants you are giving now are incoherent and rambling...

Shar9
thank you! I have a picture of you in my mind but I can't think of a famous person it is close too. I see you as I know you - you are very beautiful! In my eyes, beauty is very subjective because it is something that is more than external appearances.
One thing the computer allows us to do is to see people as they are inside and, after all, the rest is just packaging.
Of course, like Maui I put faces and images on some of the posters here ... and they change too.
Like today I see Krs as Kevin Kostner because I saw a KK flick last night.

affirmation comes from within ...
not at the expense of another.

In the interests of peace and goodwill amongst all I will NOT ask Pocono which parts are funny, which are scary and which make hime reference a male relative.

Lauren Bacall? Well, I've gotta tell you...I like it! I like it a hell of a lot more than envisioning myself as Perry Mason.

Ken, as a youngun, was Nick Nolte (as a youngun). But Ken has aged better than Nick, although the elements are all still there, and if Nick got in shape, he'd look more like Ken.

Maui...EmmyLou Harris comes to mind...lovely!

Nobs...how do you describe the EarthMother? I can't, but the closest I can come to her picture is Barbara Feldon (of "Get Smart" fame), but much smaller, much smarter, much more ethereal.

Shar...very hard, but I picture Shar as the "Charlene" character on "Designing Women" (the actress was Jean Smart). Charlene had it all...pretty, smart without knowing it, a charming ability to pursue a tangent with sincerity, and a constant underestimation of herself.

Irene...is Diane Keaton. It's just that simple. Sharp, occasionally ditsy, cut to the chase, but laugh at yourself first.

Kitsch/Kelly...in some ways, Joan of Arc fits...yeah, I can see that. But it's the bravery, the straightforward fight, and the truth of St. Joan that I see in Kel, not the martyr. Otherwise, Kel is Demi Moore, but better looking.

Pokey...hmmmm, that's hard, since I know what he looks like...who was that guy who starred in "The Commish"? Damn, he was seriously sexy.

JamesO...a young Christopher Walken, who is, clearly, too young for me...but WHOA!

Happy New Year, beautiful people!

Tall, glasses, built well, soft spoken and SMART. Sheesh..I dont watch tv alot anymore, but you are that guy!!! I cant even think of the name of the show!

Yes Beth..lauran Bacall. Definetly

Who is JJ, Zip? And I cant even place emmylous harris either. But I will go along with it, lol.

femme,

I never tried to put a *name* to people until yesterday. First, I am terrible with the names of movie stars. Second, you would not believe the # of times I have been shocked to find out later that I had the impression of a he when he turned out to be a she and vise versa. Then when I find out I was wrong I really can't point to anything that made me think that in the first place. Just an instant impression and it never fails to surprise me.

I have also had people married that weren't and a big surprise when I found that many of you are so young but I think part of that is how well everyone can get around in this computer/internet world which makes me a real infant and to find that many of you are the age of my children.

Beth,

Never a Perry Mason look alike just his last minute victories! You would definitely be a classy lady no matter who you were.

Oh yes, I am able to get myself in some fine messes.

Kitsch,

Never for one minute would I think martyr of you. I thank beth for pointing out it is the bravery and courage I think of in you.
