Thank you, VeryModern, that was way cool and dead accurate about the father thing~and about the "appearing normal" part too!
I really appreciate this so much... just exactly what I needed to know.

good deal KC / mimigigi and I gotta say - you have seen the worst of this. Far and away this is true, and from now until your big present from the universe gets here 2003 or so, Uranus will be doing a bang up job of revolutionizing your psyche. The major pain, the karma has been paid and now the gifts come. Amazing insight into yourself and other people. Experiment.

This is for Miss M who is an AW lurker.
Too bad for AW because this gal knows much about the mysteries of life.
M, you chart reminds me of my best friend "Ben".
One day I got off the phone with him and my husband asked "how's Ben doing?" and I said "better than he thinks he is."
It made me laugh it was so true, and the next time I talked to him I mentioned this and it did shift something in him and he has been both doing excellently well lately and even better, he's aware of it.
Okay, so M is a Taurus but one of these people who if they read sun sign astrology (if she reads about just Taurus) she will just barely relate. There are a few reasons for this, but the major one is that she is actually a double Scorpio who just happened to be born in May. You don't lose you sun sign M, but you are not a reeeeal Taurus. You know. Peace loving, and hard to piss off. Guess again.
You may look real librarian-ish. (wearing dk blue and with a scarf - and it looks nice, don't get me wrong) This would be your first handshake I mean. How you present. (Virgo rising, Saturn in Libra in the 1st - junque)
If you do, this is a facade, and if someone chooses to mess with you they will soon find they have made a major mistake. You've got the fire and the POWER and your enemy is dead meat if you so decide.
Now I do not mean to imply that this is what you do, but I bet you have at some point in your life.
You have one of the best combinations in the zodiac (MY BIAS) Virgo w/ Scorpio.
See Virgo wants to do good. 99.9% of the time they are doing good. Scorpio has a mother lode of power and when you put them together you can do powerful good. The potential is there.
I just got this shred of info to my great delight recently. If you are familiar with the African woman who occasionally shows up on the Oprah show - "Ilyana (sp) V - something" (besides math and spelling I am also poor at names but hopefully you know who I mean). Anyway - she is AWESOME and she is a Virgo/Scorpio. These are people (and you are one of them) who have seen the worst side of life and not only survived, but can teach and help others. You are a healer.
These last several years have no doubt brought tremendous change and I hope you are liking your new land. You have changed forever. You do have one more major piece coming (NOW), but post January 2001 you can settle in with confidence..
Okay, now I re-read your post and see I did not answer your questions.
Dang it.
On the health - it is contingent on your emotional state. You have got to find a way to channel your intense nature or you get sick. More important than that, though is know this. You are a healer. You are the kind of person that as far as I am concerned will die when they damn well please. You want to be sick? Okay. You want to be well? You know *exactly* what to do.
I can't believe you don't post. You must post somewhere. If you don't, I hope you start because you have a lot to tell people, and oh yeah.
You are doing better than you think you are.

oh and M...
That pal of mine, Ben.
He tested positive for AIDS in 1991.
Not only is he not dead, he has not even one day sick.
See, he is going to die when he damn well pleases, and when he does, he will be at the height of his power. Some people get to choose like that.
He is living with a royal flush in his hand on the heath / death front, and so are you.

I was clearing out my mail and I missed another.
Miss M, regarding your career, you are nearing the top now. As an aside, you have either a promotion or a new opportunity coming mid year - watch for it because it will be auspicious. (junque - Jupiter coming to the midheaven). At the very least you will get a glimpse of your future career.
As for real substance, early 2002 you hit your stride professionally. You ride the wave of literally all you have worked for 14 years prior. This is a period of consolidation of massive effort. You reap what you have sewn.
You will maintain this until mid 2004 and then priorities change.
To clarify, here is a stupid example that happens to be perfect.
A pal has a daughter who had just started college during this transit (Saturn through the 10th). She was a performer type and been training all her young life, so for her the peak of her career was to be the head cheerleader.
She did this for her 2 yr stint or whatever and then had a new priority, called a baby. Point is, she was no longer on "top" but who cares? Cycle to the top, and cycle on.
disclaimer - Capricorn, sun moon asc, or people with lots of planets in the 10th house care, but your main gig is elsewhere M
~~~~~`
Libra's are next but I will have to wait until tomorrow to be at my fluffy best.
Maui - "double Libra" strictly speaking means a person has both their sun and moon in Libra. Loosely speaking this includes the ascendent and in your case, you are a Libra rising / Libra sun but you are not alone.
There is a Leo from CA who has a Libra asc and Moon on deck with you.
Bottom line - this is a lot of sugar for VeryModern who will do something spicy tonight for inspiration only of course.
btw - does everyone know that asc = ascendent = rising sign?
I hope so.
Maui, maui bo baui banana fanna fo faui....
Okay so Maui is nice. She is very serious about this and as a matter of fact it is also her way of serving, and she is not serving herself. She is the Joan of Arc of nice. She sacrifices herself for the purpose of bringing balance and beauty to those around her and this is no joke, it is a way of life.
(junque - Libra rising, Libra Sun Neptune Saturn conjunct on the 12th house side TIGHT)
Okay - this much Libra has no choice but to try to offset any imbalance. FIGHT must be balanced with FLUFF or people like Maui heave. Her job (and I mean JOB) is to maintain balance so people on this forum can just stand back and watch the master.
keywords -
Saturn - work, karma, hardship
Neptune - dreamy, self sacrificing, emotional.
Sun - how you feel vitally alive
in Libra - nice, sweet, lovely, (ALSO Cardinal)
on the Ascendant (your first handshake - how you present)
There you go.
Mix 'em up, and you get fluffy Maui and hats off to her because she is living true to herself and as far as I am concerned this is always impressive.
Also, btw Saturn placed in Libra is considered to be "exalted" which is astrology for best placement in the land and the neptune in the 12th house is also well placed. These two facts go a long way towards letting Maui function at a high level.
Okay - so what else?
All this Libra is cardinal. Cardinal signs are business oriented (Cancer, Capricorn, Libra, Aries) and Libra version is the art and beauty biz. Lots and lots of interior decorators, especially Libra Moons. Show me a Libra Moon with an ugly house and it will be the first I have ever seen in 30 years of looking. At the very least, Libras are in the "art of business" and their motto is "catch more flies with honey." or however that goes.
Now it rarely happens, but if a Libra blows - do stand back. There are YEARS of anger that has been prettified and when the bough breaks it is a cosmic happening to marvel over. See it when you can because it will not be long before the crystal pretties or whatever else might have gotten hurled have been replaced, peace and balance are restored and it is like it never occurred. Also go easy on them as they will surely be battering themselves keenly aware of 8000 nicer ways they might have handled the conflict (and still WON - don't kid yourself - they want to win while compromising with you)
She has an overload of Libra / Cardinality but it does not stop there because she has a Cancer Moon in the 10th house ( cardinal sign, cardinal house). This is way more than anyone needs, but to make this even more ridiculous she has Jupiter, Mercury and Venus also in Cardinal houses and bottom line to all of this is that no one is ever going to tell Maui what to do. If she is gracious enough to offer you business advice - well I'd suggest that you take it.
Libra is ruled by Venus and so this whole situation is massively pretty, but that is not all. She also has Jupiter in Taurus (Venus ruled) in the 7th house (ruled by Libra / Venus).
I have no comment on this except for a wide-eyed deer in headlights look a junque - HELP ME!.
The last gal M has been to the rim of hell. In fact she has made many a trip and most of what and why is none of your business.
Say "hell" to Maui and she waves her hand like beloved jedi Obi Wan Kenobi "heaven, did you say?"
Maui - something unexpected would have occurred earlier this year - Feb - Mar 2000 that brought you a benefit, both financial as well as expansive. You have been getting little presents like this all year and can expect this to continue most of 2001.
I do not have a lot to report as for huge happenings in your life and the reason is because you (and all the Cardinal signs - (again Cancer, Cap, Libra, Aries) were PUMMELED for years, most intensely in 91-92. As a result they are coasting now. You are in very good repair, only need a minor tweak from the universe here or there. This as opposed to the fixed signs (Taur/Scor/Leo/Aqua sun - moon or rising) who are on the roller coaster ride a the moment being liberated, or the mutables (Virgo, Picses, Sag, Gemi) who are dealing with Pluto and have a Saturn transit coming round the corner aka as a major tune-up, system flush, oil change, not to mention an appointment with the judge - etc. etc.
Enjoy the peace, you are earned it.
The thing I see that is worth mentioning is Saturn through the 8th house. I wrote about this on one of the other threads so hopefully you can recall. It was about a fear of death. You will be dealing with this and as i said last time, relief is readily available by facing your fear of your own death by planning for it, as in MAKE a WILL. Not because you need one because you are going to die, but because you need one so that you can feel prepared and adult about the whole thing. Also, don't dare cheat on your taxes next 2 years as you will most definitely get caught if you do. I am not insinuating that you would, this is just my way to say keep it squeaky clean.
Last, I did read on another thread that you felt that you should be more compassionate. I thought that was an interesting comment and so I looked into it.
I did not have to look far.
Compassion (or the lack of it) is shown by the placement of the Moon and it's aspects. Yours is in Cancer, but as I said it is in the 10th house, which is the Capricorn house - very rigid. It is Capricorns (traditionally, and this has been greatly modified in our generation thanks to the line up in 1992) who say things like "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" and stuff like that.
This is your natal "condition".
Of course, people are always evolving and I took a peek at your Solar Return chart (shows your year from birthday to birthday) and sure enough I found a Pisces Moon (these are the people who take the shirt off their back). It is placed in the 10th house which is PUBLIC, and so here you are stating your intention on as public board. Also, if memory serves, I believe you said WORK on being more compassionate - and this is another Capricorn/Saturn/10th house concept idea. Work / effort.
Astrology is soooooo cool.
You are on track.
Okay, this is for the Leo from Ca who I will call Sunny. You can claim your chart if you want to - I will not id you.
Sunny shares some qualities with Maui.
They both have excellent business acumen.
They both are extremely polite , some more, some more.
Then they part ways.
Meeting Maui is like stumbling on a dynamic controlled excellently beautiful flower in a specific environment.
OTOH, Sunny is a fire flower and she is on the move.
She goes here, she goes there, she seeks the truth and social prominence in equal order.
That's what we see.
What we don't see is that she is highly psychic (and another one who needs to keep a clean home on an energy level) and is allowed glimpses of the future, besides being extremely empathetic.
She has two ways to access information.
Sometimes it may be a dream or a feeling, other times information arrives like an instant present. She just knows and the info is ultra specific and she did not expect to have it.
Now I don't think that this necessarily brings Sunny terrific comfort, for a few of reasons. (her Leo sun likes being special though).
First, she is a SERIOUS ADULT in general and may want to reject this other stuff, censure herself - control the uncontrollable.
Secondly, by and large people mock this kind of talent and Sunny does care what people think, particularly her FAMILY.
(your mother was also highly psychic, whether she rejected this or not and this is where you got it)
Third - it is not comfortable (or polite ) because of how it bursts in without knocking.
Fourth - Moon Neptune in Libra is ruled by Venus in Virgo in the the 11th house which is scientific and is prone to pooh pooh this sort of thing.
Nevertheless, it is there, and it does come together when someone is in need.
The Moon Neptune in the 12th feels the other person's pain and Venus in Virgo is very willing to pitch in but will deny the IDEA of feeling about it - acting instead because she THINKS she can help.
No matter how you get there though - Sunny is a damned good friend to have when trouble strikes.
Now your Venus (love life) is very interesting to me and I bet you have some tales on that front.
If you are married, I hope you married your friend, and you are another one with a fair bit of luck. I know you are careful but odds are that you land on your feet.
Last, like Maui you have a preponderance of Cardinal signs - all slammed in the early 90's IOW you are all fixed up and coasting for the most part (excluding the truck that just hit your Sun 1998 of course but you like your new self, doncha?)
You (and all the Cardinals) are on break until 2003. Run amok, get some sun and oh yeah.. As a general rule, take calcium. You have increased risk to teeth and bones.
Sorry. I think I want to say thank you for "validating" what I felt inside but didnt know how to express it. And you are right on with dates too. And so many other things you said. Wow. Thank you very much, VM. On the "psychic" thing, I guess I will have to step up and own it now, although it's always been my "dirty little secret" heh, heh. I can say hubby no longer rolls his eyes when I give him specific numbers to play in the lottery instead of his usual computer generated quick picks. Of course if my talent were really reliable, we'd be relaxing at our villa in the South of France. Seriously though, my jaw dropped when I read that because my "feelings" or "intuition" as I prefer to call it is not something that I have talked about to anyone other than DH, and nope I don't have "visions" or a "crystal ball" and I rarely acknowledge these "flashes" unless my kids are involved which is when I will go into "nuclear alert". One comment I'll make re your post to Maui above and Libra Moons (which I take that I also have)..my degree is in Interior Design, although I no longer work in that field. But you knew that, didn't you?
posted on December 29, 2000 02:35:53 PM new
Yes, not surprised on the degree in design KatyD but you know you didn't really *learn* anything did you? That is because the talent was there front the instant you were born.
note - I did not specifically state it - but KatyD is a Leo, with a Libra Rising, Libra Moon.
For the record:
Maui Libra rising Libra Sun in the 12th Moon in the 10th
KatyD Libra rising Libra Moon in the 12th Sun in the 10th
This is the most complicated...confusing and interesting stuff. I need a book. A very basic book.
I know this is a simplistic and stupid question...but, that's never stopped me...heh. Why do the positions of the planets at our birth have any effect on us? That's what's holding me back here. I always need to know why.
If you've already explained this VM, please just point me to the thread. I know how tiresome it is to keep repeating yourself...
posted on December 29, 2000 02:56:45 PM new
I had another thought KatyD and whoever else goes here..
About stepping up and claiming it - that is a very good plan.
So many of us have natural gifts that we never learn to rely on, even though they have served us well for 30 or 40 or 50 years or more. Maybe they work better if we do (I dunno) but for sure, each of us have areas where we come out on top as a matter of routine and it seems worth having an inventory of what's in your wallet for free.
Myself?
You don't ever want to face me in a courtroom. I will prevail. Even when I lose, I win. It is uncanny.
(I got sued when I was a kid , 17 YO and represented myself against a conglomerate who had 4 lawyers present. I lost and the judge awarded them $5 dollars. He went on to lecture them along the lines of "how dare you bastards bring here here.."
Judges like me, they just do.
(I drove my car too fast 4 times and lost my license. I drove for a living at the time so this was a crisis. The judge suspended my license but he BACKDATED it so that it showed up as if I had already done the time. He told me to have a good day. )
Every other time I have just plain won. By this time in my life, if I am smart I can come to accept that this is gift that is mine. Not to abuse of course, but if I see a summons, well I would be foolish to panic.
OTOH, there are people and places and situations I avoid whenever possible because they do not favor me.
Take a tally, because this is real.
posted on December 29, 2000 03:20:54 PM new
toke you need three books or a book with three sections.
You need to understand what the planets represent. Venus - love money pretty, all that stuff.
You need to understand what the houses represent. 8th house - sex death taxes transformation, more more more
You need to understand what the signs represent. Taurus- stability, art, beauty, comfort
A good beginning astrology book covers all of this.
You load the info and at some point it starts to gel.
It is less difficult than it seems.
1st house, 1st sign, Aries, associated with Mars
2nd house, 2nd sign Taurus, associated with Venus and so forth.
What I mean is that in a general sense you have 12 things to learn here - the 12 signs, the 12 houses and they have an affinity to each other. The planets correspond to the signs also.
I generally recommend "The Only Astrology Book You Will Ever Need" to beginners. The title is beat, but the book can be had for a reasonable (cheap) price and covers the basics, plus enough to whet an appetite for more if one is due to develop.
On your other question Why do the positions of the planets at our birth have any effect on us? I am not the gal to ask because I have never wondered about this for even two seconds, but I suspect I have some sort of answer (nothing that is gonna get by coda) and will post it when I know what it is.
Will start the ponderment process now.
Yes, VM, I am hearing you. Even though I make light of it with the lottery example, it is something that has been with me my whole life, or as long as I can remember anyway. This "thing" (see I still have trouble calling it the -p- word) stood me in good stead at times, and yet at others, I can say that it hasn't exactly been what I would call a blessing. Even now, I have a little difficulty discussing it, but let me say that "knowing" some things is not all fun and games, much of the time, I'm not sure what that "knowing" means if that makes any sense, and it creeps me out. Especially in relation to people I care about, some things I "feel" that I feel bad about like I'm eavesdropping or something. I don't like that. BTW, my mother died when I was two, so I don't know if she ever had the same "feelings". Nobody in the family has ever mentioned it, but with my family, it definitely isn't the sort of thing discussed in polite company.
posted on December 29, 2000 03:41:12 PM new
On the other hand, now that it's out in the open, next time I say "I have a bad feeling about this" in a political thread, people will sit up and pay attention. HAHA!
posted on December 29, 2000 04:24:29 PM new
Okay KatyD - I am sorry it gives you grief. I suspected this. For example - your Libra says "polite" and it says "eavesdrop" which is of course "rude". On top of this you have a strong Saturn (Capricorn/ 10th house) reality which always wants to do the right thing, and make it conservative if you don't mind. PLUS Leo wants to be KING and QUEEN and they are not supposed to be eccentric - you are constantly setting an example...
Good enough, but the things you know are part of you too.
I wonder if you could change your perspective. How you see it. I do not mean this critically - I am just so sure that we have to embrace all of our parts to live well.
As for information you may get - there is a reason, but you are not likely to understand it until you can welcome it. It is important that you do because you do not have this ability just to annoy you.
Like this.
Remember junque? People with strong Scorpio like her see people naked everywhere they go. Stripped to their essence. Do you think this is fun? Not always - just ask them. Thing is that if no one had this ability there would be no competent psychologists out there. Someone has to be willing and able to cut to the bone. Scorpio lances boils. They unclog pipes. Hey. Libra ain't gonna do it, but someone better, because it is vital to all of us.
You, and what you do are just as important.
One more thing.
Imagine you are channeling your mother.
Invite her in and tell not to scare you. Maybe before you go to sleep and see if that gets you anywhere.
KatyD - I just wanted to elaborate slightly. I don't want to spook you or anyone else.
Regarding your mother, even if she died when you were 2, every time you look in the mirror, she is there. Every time you look at your children she is there. I am a mother (like you) and if I die tomorrow, or you die tomorrow - we are still the mother of our children and our impact is not null and void. In fact it is bigger than ever.
This is what I am trying to suggest.
If she is here, and there and there and there, then surely she is in your dreams yes/no?
