Before this year is up, I will corner the demons in my basement, face them squarely and head on, and name them.
Beginning immediately January 1st, I will once again take up the journey of discovering who and what I am meant to be.
God willing, I will be able to take those steps without injury to those I love and who love me. I will let go of the crutches I've been using and cover up all the escape hatches.
To everything there is a turn, and my turn to rest and ruminate is over.
2001 - The sweet safe darkness is ebbing from my inward sky, and the sun is rising with brilliance and clarity. It illuminates those vast mountains I was afraid to cross in the dead of night, and in its light I can see that they are green and beautiful with many paths and trails intersecting them. With the hand of God to guide me, I will crawl if I have to, or maybe leap and bound, who knows? I am suddenly eager to find out.
