codasauras - I just read your last post.
Re: the science - get the damn book.
The author speaks your language - this party has already begun.

MrP - I am concerned with the big picture not this or that burp. I do not get up in the morning and look at the days placements and draw conclusions or issue warnings.
I look to astrology when there is a piece I need to help myself of a pal of mine. I pick up the info and I move along.
A mail carrier crushing a package is a detail. There are people who study details but I am not one of them.

In 20 years in NICU working closely with OB, we were always swamped with deliveries at the full moon. I saw this in various states and countries. The psych nurses also tend to get busy at the full moon.

The issue of when and how you came to this board is only relevant in terms of understanding the nature and intent of your posts. Over time one begins to recognize the personality and character of a person hidden in the words. The originator of this thread has a history of friendliness and goodwill to other participants. Many posters are in awe of her talents. I'd like her to stick around and continue to enjoy posting.
There are several distinct types of threads in this forum. Some are intense and confrontational, others are lighthearted and fun, some combine a little of both. Some people like to play, others don't. Understanding all of this results in informal rules of behavior that transcend the CG's. It is unexpected to have controversy inflicted upon a fun thread. Your apparent attempt to do just that prompted the question, I'm sure. I have confidence in VeryModern to make that apparent to you, but I thought it merited being said.
I am looking forward to your reaction to the reading. Try to enjoy it.

Helen, some would ask "wasn't religion debunked by: science, deism, atheism, communism, any-ism... in the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th century (your choice)?" And some will answer yes and some will answer no.

MrP - I had an emotional reaction to the crushing of that toy. Frankly it made me want to puke. My propensity to react this way would be evidenced in my natal chart. IOW, I am just living my life.

To the New Yorker who just sent their data -
Capricorn - Taurus Moon - Libra rising
I will put up comments as soon as I have a chance. In the meantime, please advise if your birthtime is exact or an estimate. I have to leave this hailstorm now. Car pool duty calls, and then I have a stack of mail to cope with.
PS I will not identify you publically. That will be your call.

How about giving us a read on our new President? The details of his birth should be fairly easy to come by. How do you feel about the Old Indian Curse on the 0 year Presidents? We someone give it a go to bump him off?
You are telling me that you can predict the future based on the
position of stars. It's hard for me to understand how you can
think this.
I suspect, that before arriving at a conclusion, you are taking into consideration more data than
the position of stars in space.
Maybe this is unconscious on your part.

VeryModern,
I would like to take you up on your offer. Privately as you prefer is quite all right with me. I'll email you the necessary details later today.
Hello HJW,
Many things have been "debunked" over the ages.
I would prefer to think of these events in less pejorative terms. Rather than debunking a theory as "nonsense", science seems to me to be an ongoing quest to provide more accurate theories about how all things work.
The Ptolemaic system works very well at describing (predicting) the motions of the planets. It was supplanted only because a more general theory was proffered by Copernicus. The Copernican system was further refined by the work of Kepler and Newton. And so on and so on.

Okay Brooklyn, you have a nice chart here (my bias).
You are attractive and offer eye contact that is memorable. You are keenly observant of other peoples emotions primarily (as opposed to their intellect or appearance which is secondary to you) and by nature a "seeker" meaning your are on a life long mission to learn the truth, as opposed to someone who thinks that they know everything worth knowing, or that "this" is all there is.
You have a problem being exactly content. This is on an emotional level I mean. First, your comfort loving peaceful, likes to eat and has a nice voice Taurus Moon is placed in the 8th house ruled by Scorpio which thrives via pain, loss, various other extreme conditions. It is hard to eat well when you are simultaneously wishing to starve. Get it?
I say "Live your sun, satisfy your Moon" and in your case, this is not easily achieved on the Moon side. Although the signs oppose, there are some shared interests and affinities and in these types pursuits you will have a respite from the conflict. Off the top of my head - probing mysteries (astrology being one of them) is an example. Sex is another. There is also a slight tendency towards depression, but this is more like a threat that you live with that never can never quite cover you. Too much buoyancy in other places IOW you have a built in support against it.
On the love life side - you are going for someone one lively, fiery and chatty. No wimps and no ultra feminine energy. Your Venus and Mars relate very well to each other when means you are able to find satisfaction in relationship. This is a huge bonus and should be appreciated - not everyone is so lucky.
As far as looking ahead, you are going to "school". The purpose is to gain a bigger and better perspective (as opposed to get a paper you need, or to please parents or whatever). This may be a traditional school, but just as easily you could run into a guru type who teaches you plenty. Consider yourself Anakin Skywalker - Patawan. This lasts for the next 2.5 - 3 years. It will be demanding, even very demanding but the payoff is assured and you will in your glory post 3 years. You will be there BECAUSE of your effort, and the success will be public as opposed to a personal triumph. You have to go through this, to get UP there. On a pedestal or sorts. That is where you are headed.
During this time (actually this is true for all of your lifetime, but particularly next 3 years) heads up when you meet a "foreigner" which means "foreign to you". They will always be lucky for you as will international travel, people that you meet while traveling. There are multiple strong indicators of this in your chart and they are highlighted NOW which means if you are not shipping internationally for example, you should change that, pronto.

ut oh Brooklyn - I am back. I was thinking about the eclipse on Christmas that is relevant to you since it is near the degree of your sun, and I noted that T (transiting) Saturn is currently conjunct your Moon. As a matter of fact it is stationary grinding it's lesson home.
Ow.
Okay. So at this very moment you may be feeling depressed but you are on the very last leg of this. You are nearly clear and you will not encounter a bout of low mood like this for another 28 1/2 years.
Got that?
28 1/2 years
Hang in - the rest holds true, and this includes the ways and means to cheer yourself up. You are young, and what you need to know right now is that you are NOT a person who is going to spend your life feeling low. This will pass, it is passing now, and you will find this next cycle much easier.

Hi snowy!
codasaurus -
I would like to know if astrology can really predict the future or if the predictions are more like taking a
shotgun to a target and only counting the near hits while ignoring the misses.
Is this not reasonable?
You have a right to want to know this and a right to try to learn the answer, but you do not have a right to find a wandering by astrologer (me) and demand that I stop my life to explain it to you.
~~~~
To the person ( I am sorry, I cannot see your id on this page and am short on time) who asked about the pres, I am sorry I have no interest. I don't even believe in probing the charts of public figures to be honest, but I don't have energy to explain why not right now.
Anyway, lots and lots of astrologers are interested in examining public figures and making predictions, and no doubt the chart has been done repeatedly and delineation of it is posted all over the web. If I run into one, I will post it here.
Sorry.
codasaurus, your data is here and it is a surprise to me. I did not really speculate, but just the same - I am pretty much floored. I will be happy to comment but I am going to need to assimilate.
Cancer Sun, Pisces Moon, Scorpio rising.
I am tired and getting my kids to bed - It may not be able to write until tomorrow.
For the moment - I will say that you have saturn in Virgo bang conjunct your midheaven which translates to coming across in PUBLIC as rigid, cold, unfeeling, too intellectual, and even a prude, but folks, there is much more here than has met the eye.
I will be back - but I have to think. This chart is loaded to me.
codasaurus - posting to reassure that there is nothing deadly in your chart. I did not expect to find your chart "sympathetic". I do, and I was surprised, but I am over that now.
I am struggling some (first with my printer) and now because we (you and I) have many planets placed in close aspect (this is a math thing) which makes it difficult for me to maintain a detached view. This is like trying to get a grip on what you are looking at when it is right up close in your face.
The other problem is that there is so much to say. Interpretation of your chart lends itself better to a long conversations over a period of time as opposed to a swift synopsis on a chat board. This because there is such an ungodly amount of water (signs and houses).
I can do it though.
I am just waiting to know where to start.
