To address a couple more of your comments, fenix.
On the 'love' from other countries. LOL at that one. The terrorists need to know and I believe they DO now...that we will take action against anyone who does damage to our Nation or it's interests during the next three years.....and as long after that as a Republican President is in the WH.
Just like helen and others here were so in agreement with our so-called allies who were NOT supporting us in this war.....now the helen's of the world won't address that saddam had made deal with them....trying to 'buy' their votes with oil so the sanctions helen and her ilk wanted lifted would be lifted.
But saddam's supporters like helen didn't get things their way....and saddam and those countries were exposed for just what they WERE doing.
Then on the Iraq war....not being who attacked us. Nope, they hadn't yet....and now they won't be able to continue supporting the terrorist like saddam was doing. Didn't hear any liberals here being upset about that FACT either. MORE pro-saddam support??? Looked like it to me.
Afghanistan not being willing to turn over binladen....who was a threat to our Nation....and saddam was ANOTHER, different threat to peace in the ME and to the world....as clinton had also stated.
But now AQ IS in Iraq....trying to control things and we are dealing with it. We've been very successful at it, again not that we hear any of the good news from our liberal MSM. But we've had much success there anyway.
And again I ask why you, fenix, helen, kiara, mingotree/crowfarm/maggie/KD/etc....REFUSE TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS?
Can't? So anti-BUSH/war liberals like kiara have to resort to telling others who DO support our country to 'cram it up their ass'? That shows they're own lack of ability to discuss the issues. So sad....but certainly not surprising from them. That's all they have left....no platform to defend....no solutions except surrender...
And their negative 'karma' will come directly back to them..

Would you like me to write a short scenario of your problems so you can bring it to him?
I am willing to help you get better so this is just a start:
Patient thinks others have posted certain comments on a chat board when they haven't.
Patient tells lies constantly but believes that everyone else is lying all the time.
Patient thinks only her views of the world are correct and that everyone that doesn't agree with her is anti-American.
Patient worships President Bush as her god and has built a throne for him and can't understand why others don't worship him also.
Patient advocates genocide to take care of those who do not agree with her.
Patient is so obsessed with certain posters on a chat board that she has monitors throughout her house to keep track of them.
Patient thinks that there are terrorists around every corner and under her bed so she seldom sleeps.

As I said, discussion with linda is FUTILE. Her claims that we ALL lie and her claims that we ALL make statements that we ALL know we have not made along with her claims that we take positions that NOT ONE of us has taken is reason enough to overlook her rants as those of a disturbed individual.

lindak was just embarrassed when she finally realized that Canadians weren't trained in Canada and sent to Vietnam by the Canadian government so she tried to change the subject again so lied and accused me of coming in here to bash the US and her glorified leader.

She has become so tempermental that it is impossible to even attempt a serious discussion unless you agree with her, defend her, suck up to her and praise Bush which I will not do.

I've NEVER seen ONE of you lay the blame for this war at HIS feet.....no...you've bashed this President for everything including take a breath. I'm not a liberal, but will answer your question:
Liberals, Independents such as myself, and conservatives who bother to think for themselves don't lay the blame for this war at Saddam's feet for the simple reason that he isn't responsible for it. Bush and Co. are.
You can hark back to the Clinton era all you want, but the simple fact of the matter is that while Saddam had WMDs then he no longer had them when Bush Jr. decided he just had to invade Iraq. And Bush & Co. ignored intelligence reports that told that simple fact.
But even if Saddam had still been in possession of WMDs, he still wouldn't have been responsible for this war. That would still be at the feet of Bush & Co.
Why? Because Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11. Nothing to do with Osama bin Laden (whom he hated) or Al-Queada.
Like most people, I was in favor of the war against Osama bin Laden & the Al Queada. They, after all, attacked us. When we went into Afghanistan to go after bin Laden, most people cheered the President. If he'd gone after the Saudis, we'd also have cheered since most of the 9-11 attackers were Saudi. But Bush is friends with the Saudi royal family, so you know that wan't going to happen.
Then, sudeenly, he stopped going after our attackers. Suddenly we were told he didn't care where Osama bin Laden was or what he was doing. No, we were told, Bush & Co. was now going after Saddam Hussein.
Is Saddam a Bad Man? You betcha. But it wasn't our business to go after him. Personally, I don't want or need the new White Man's Burden of spreading our way of life around the globe, forcing countries to become democracies (well, republics) whether they want it or not.
But now we're stuck in Iraq. They may speak of starting to send troops home in the Spring, but it's a sure bet that we will remain a military presence there for years to come to take care of the mess we created there. Yeah, yeah, we "fgave" them "democracy" but we also gave them a terrorist industry that didn't exist before our arrival.
And, lo, not content with Iraq, Bush has also been making not-so-subtle threats of caring his White Man's Burden to other countries around the globe he does not approve of. Which means that we may be at war for years to come.
And that won't be Saddam's fault either. That will lay squarely at the feet of Chimpy McFlightsuit.
posted on December 30, 2005 10:40:47 AM
Yes, bunni, I understand that as an Independent YOU aren't one from the JKF times. One who believed spreading democracy IS what will and has changed our world into a better one.
I'm sorry to see that you don't hold saddam to any blame. The UN and many of us in American DO though. The 1991 war ended BECAUSE he made an agreement that way too many of you bush-haters don't think he should have been held to.
Too bad....the world via the UN DID. And, as usual when our intelligence says there is a TREAT to our Nation....it's the President's job to deal with it. He did.
[b]The US Congress voted IN the "Liberation of Iraq" law....made it our National Policy to REMOVE SADDAM FROM POWER.....WAY BEFORE THIS PRESIDENT WAS ELECTED[/i]. Which imo just shows that our Congress during the clinton administration ALSO agree with the world body that saddam WAS a threat, HAD USED HIS WOMD...and as clinton stated...it was only a matter of time until he would again.
So...too bad that those of you who refuse to blame our enemies, but would rather blame this President didn't get your way, even when the dems saw saddam the same way.
Glad we aren't depending on the Independents and democrats to protect this Nation....they're on our enemies side....obviously, by holding them to NO blame.
posted on December 30, 2005 10:50:17 AM
Very well said, Bunni.
Unfortunately Bush did not understand his enemy or the games he played and now faces the consequences of invading a country without any knowledge or planning, a very rash action on his part.
posted on December 30, 2005 11:18:10 AMdon't lay the blame for this war at Saddam's feet for the simple reason that he isn't responsible for it. Bush and Co. are.
Nope...totally disagree....OUR Nation WAS NOT being held accountable by the UN to honor and agreement saddam made 13 years ago. [when we went to war] SADDAM was....one little FACT those anti-war seem to brush aside.
saddam COULD HAVE done as he said he would....account for the womb or PROVE they'd been distroyed. HE DIDN'T bunni.
You can hark back to the Clinton era all you want,
thank you, I will. To continue pointing out to you who ONLY wish to keep supporting our enemies.
but the simple fact of the matter is that while Saddam had WMDs then he no longer had them when Bush Jr. decided he just had to invade Iraq.
"Then he no longer had them"???? LOL taking HIS word against the UN...other countries and our own Country. How funny. Where'd they go, bunni? They just disappeared into thin air and you don't see a need for accountability that the UN/US did?
And Bush & Co. ignored intelligence reports that told that simple fact. No, I disagree there too. Intelligence gives ALL information and it's the President and those that advise him who get to WEIGH that information and either act or not on it.
But even if Saddam had still been in possession of WMDs, he still wouldn't have been responsible for this war. That would still be at the feet of Bush & Co.
Oh....so he could still have had them, which in small amounts he did. And very recent discoveries have found LARGE cashes of weapons...found that were buried. Oh, but according to the anti-war folks....no womd could have been buried in some sand dessert...no way ...no how huh? LOL Sure they could have been. And that still was the responsibility of saddam....NOT this President.
Why? Because Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11. Nothing to do with Osama bin Laden (whom he hated) or Al-Queada.
There has been evidence provided that shows otherwise, whether you and the other saddam supporters want to believe it or not. BUT as you said above, 'even if they didn't'.....I'm saying that saddam was a threat BEFORE this President was first in office....separate from 9-11 because 9-11 HADN'T happened when our Nation's perception of him as a threat WAS already made.
He was an independent terrorists supporter, paid $25,000 to each terrorist family....and heaven only knows what else he was doing. So....BEFORE and seperately he was a threat. Deny our Nations policies all you want....it's a FACT. It's a FACT he'd used womd against his own people....and again our troops, recently uncovered more massive graves of people he murdered. He wasn't above anything.
Not for the biased reason YOU claim, no. Did you see the clinton administration not being QUITE friendly with the Saudi's? LOL.....
I agree the Saudi religion did raise and promote this hatred for the West...and American's....and I've said several times I don't know how much money they've paid to support terrorism....but to call out only Bush....and deny our Nations history/relationship with the Saudi government....is to again only see what you want to see....which, imo, is certainly NOT the full story.
Then, sudeenly, he stopped going after our attackers. Suddenly we were told he didn't care where Osama bin Laden was or what he was doing.
Oh, give me a break, bunni. What a lie....and taking one part of a sentence totally out of context, when he was being harrassed by the MSM liberal press, removes all sense of reality from the true situation.
FACT IS we NEVER stopped hunting down binladen. NEVER. Read the military sites rather than the anti-American garbage you read on the NYT and all those slanted liberal sites.
No, we were told, Bush & Co. was now going after Saddam Hussein.
Our military did both, bunni. And so has the military from other Nations. But yes, he did go after saddam.....for NOT complying and for what he represented....another threat...right after 9-11.
Is Saddam a Bad Man? You betcha. But it wasn't our business to go after him.
No, according to you who hold saddam to NO BLAME what-so-ever.....it wasn't. To those who don't want to wait UNTIL we're attacked again.....and listen to you anti-Bush haters anti-war people BLAME him for not preventing an attack....like you all did about him with 9-11 LOL.....
But we put the right man in office. And he did deal with what the dem party would only talk about AFTER 5 attacks by binladen.
Personally, I don't want or need the new White Man's Burden of spreading our way of life around the globe, forcing countries to become democracies (well, republics) whether they want it or not.
Glad to know you're in the minority and don't have the power to make those life and death decisions for our country.
But now we're stuck in Iraq. They may speak of starting to send troops home in the Spring, but it's a sure bet that we will remain a military presence there for years to come to take care of the mess we created there.
Oh....another blame America first, American. LOL geeze... Again....saddam had the power to PREVENT ALL THIS.
Yeah, yeah, we "fgave" them "democracy" but we also gave them a terrorist industry that didn't exist before our arrival.
BS....what crap. saddam WAS a terrorist....to all he didn't like....to the whole region too. They didn't suddenly decide to become terrorists...they've been raised with that hatred....grown up with it...don't know anything different.
And, lo, not content with Iraq, Bush has also been making not-so-subtle threats of caring his White Man's Burden to other countries around the globe he does not approve of. Which means that we may be at war for years to come.
Referring to Iran? LOL Are you a supporter of the clerics who believe Iran should have a right to have nuclear arms too? Yes, this is why I question all your loyalties to our country. They should all just be left alone...and they won'd attack us first. LOL No....just as they didn't the 5 times before 9-11.
You guys/gals have to get a grip on what their true intentions are towards the west/America. Get your heads out of the sand.
And that won't be Saddam's fault either. That will lay squarely at the feet of Chimpy McFlightsuit.
Yep....it's clear, bunni, that you too support/defend our enemies. Refuse to hold them accountable but sure have no problem with blaming our country for going what's right.
And I think those of you that hold this sad position will be JUST as upset should a dem get in the WH. I'll bet they'll see the threat the same way clinton/bush did/has/does. And you can continue making all your pro-American-enemies statements....but they'll either defend this Nation or we'll be attacked again. This time maybe with bio/chem weapons. THEN you might be happy because WE WERE ATTACKED FIRST, rather than prevented it as this President is doing.

As a Canadian how does OUR cost for this or any other war concern your day to day life, kiara?
It shouldn't imo.
Go worry about Canada's military....it's cost THEY have decided to spend in Afghanistan.
What was the total cost to America for 9-11?
What will the cost be should any group of terrorists decide to murder millions and millions of American's with bio/chem weapons they would LOVE to use on us?
Cost is the LEAST of our worries. It's people like you who think the terrorists are NICE guys....left alone would do us no harm....when they've PROVEN quite the opposite.

I have stated my position quite clearly for a couple of years now that I fully supported Canada going into Afghanistan in the search for Bin Laden.
It's been a dangerous job for the troops and it would have been made better if Bush didn't pull out so many of the US ones to sidetrack to Iraq when he decided that impressing his daddy was more important than finding Bin Laden.
Must really piss you off.
