I used to post over at the Q & A board last year too and for awhile people used to answer my questions. Then I noticed the chit chat starting and now it seems you can't get a real question is sideways. But what really stopped my going over to the boards was what happened on 2 other boards over there. I once had a nice piece of pottery that I couldn't identify it's function. I posted a pic on the pottery board, one user who stated she was an authority on the line said it was something particular that I knew for sure it wasn't. I very nicely questioned her and said that certain things with the piece made it so it couldn't be what she said it was and asked if it could be something else. She went absolutely ballistic, sent me some of the rudest emails I have ever received. By the way, I later purchased a book on the maker of the items and she was wrong. Another time, I went to the doll board to ask a question about an old doll that I had and had 4 posters rip me a new butt about why I should do my own research. Geeez, I thought it was a help board. So that is why I started coming over here. You might still get ripped up sometimes but I have never been made to feel totally stupid here or made to feel completely unwelcome. Over there if you are not a member of their "group", you will not be treated with one shred of respect.

LOL about the recipes!
I still don't know what the New Board is
I went there after I posted my question: what is this board about
And the next post was saying 'hi so and so! nice to see a familiar face, welcome to the TNB and then the poster put (islanders) after TNB... huh??? so The New Board is only for 'islanders' which islands? Hawaiian? Carribean?
Hey we have islands here in the Puget Sound!!!!! LOL!!!! lots of 'em!

Just from what I've seen on those boards, seems like you need to know the others or be invited by a regular or something! not sure.
It used to be, at least Q & A, good, they helped everyone, that was a long time ago, now? naaaaa they like to drink thier coffee and exchange recipes? (LOL!) between themselves

I occasionally go through a short period where I post over at eBay chatboards and at RemarQ, but not very often, and not ever for a very long time.
The messages are depressing to read in the threaded area, and really, if you do make time to spend hours actually examining them, you can only come to one conclusion, (-- IF you are ME, lol), and that conclusion is that the boards have been invaded and infested for the MOST part, long term, by posters with OBVIOUS agendas, who wish ardently for the demise of eBay.
It gets all very werry boring as they are SO obvious, and since EVERYTHING they post is SO derogatory, one simply becomes desensitized to ANY negative comment about eBay, as it usually seems to be from yet another multiple (0) i.d. used by the afficianados of VIRAL persuasion.
I do check up on "them" several times a year, and these posters whom I consider to be simple agent provocateurs are no more successful today than a couple years back, and frankly, they are exceedingly BORING. JMNSHO
