I know many sellers are afraid to give negative feedback for NPB. Perhaps some sort of code phrase could be left to alert other sellers. This would also alert the seller about how many NPB have been filed so bidder could be suspended.
In the medical world, if there is a non paying patient, the code phrase to give the new doctor is, "The chart is not complete."
Perhaps appropriate feedback for a deadbeat could be, "I am anxious to complete transaction", left as a neutral if fear of retaliation is there.
Maybe on this board we could develop a universal key phrase to alert other sellers.

I wish ebay would come up with a policy where if you have to request credit (FVF) on a deadbeat that as soon as you request your FVF that ebay would "lock out" that deadbeat from being able to leave feedback unless they can SHOW PROOF that they paid for the item.

It's all in your perspective I guess. I don't think if I get a retaliatory neg that anything is ruined.
Anyway, I write "did not complete transaction" nothing less, nothing more and since I came up with this comment have never gotten a retaliatory neg, and I have left this comment 40 times at least. Please do not misunderstand, I completely support a seller's right to NEVER leave a neg. My point here is that if you WANT to leave a neg, face your fear and do it. It won't ruin you. Three strikes your out rule.
Three FVF and you are NARU'd. Period.
Leaving Neg's for bidders is a waste of time. There are so many 10 feedback or less people, and Ebay's registration for bidders is so lax that it is pointless. If a bidder gets a neg, they only have to pick a new username and start over.
It is the seller that needs to protect their feedback rating / reputation. And if that means not leaving neg's for bidders, then so be it.

This is preposterous...what about a code for all of those deadbeat sellers! At least as a seller you're not out money paid for an item and not received.
As far as locking out a bidder as soon as FVF is filed, what about all of those quick to file sellers? Nope can't agree with any of this.
oooohhh oooohh I might get a neg....

I'd say bite the bullet and neg the deadbeats, after you've filed your NPBs and FVF credits. That is what makes the feedback system work.
It's natural to fear retaliatory negs, but don't let it stop you from leaving those well deserved negs. Most people who read feedback are aware of the problem of retaliatory negs anyway and will take any you may have into consideration.
If you don't leave the neg, you are not helping the next buyer or seller.

The best code for a deadbeat is NEGATIVE, qwith a "Filed NPB, no response". Shortly after four of those codes are acquitred, the deadbeat acquires a NARU code.
It's the people who are terrified of dings on feedbacks who keep the deadbeats in business.
mauimoods - Anyone seeing a long string of
negatives from a deadbeat would understand what happened. Do the FVF and get them NARU as soon as possible.

Ebay will never block out a feedback reply from a deadbeat. What I would like to see is another line on the feedback page showing how many FVF have been filed against the buyer. If they make payment or prove the ebay that the FVF was filed incorrectly against them it would come off their feedback page, just like it comes off their file.

I believe that, if you are concerned about 17 negs from one bidder, you should remember that only one of those counts against your rating and you may be able to get them removed due to the policy against feedback bombing. If you leave ONE neg for non-payment on 17 transactions and she can't provide proof of payment, I think that even Safe Harbor would agree that 17 retaliatory negs constitutes feedback bombing. I've seen situations on the Feedback board on Ebay where multiple negs from a NPB were removed for just this reason.

>>Either post something nice about the bidder or seller, or say NO COMMENT. Would relieve alot of stress and retaliations, wouldnt it?<< NOW I HAVE HEARD IT ALL! I knew these message boards were for softies, now I have proof! Where's Mr. Rogers when you need him? Actually, you are right, though. The current feedback system really doesn't paint a clear picture of a lot of people. The "no comments" who just don't leave feedback could really tell the true story about any Ebayer. Letting people simply leave a "no comment" without being allowed to trash somebody would take a lot of the fear of retaliation out of it.

I just had to file a neg about 10 days ago, and all I put was...."Did not send Payment. I don't know why." What can they say to that? And it was a neg, not a neutral. The person as of this week is (not a registered user) any longer. So does that mean they are just unregistered by choice, or kicked?

mauimoods -
Someone just nailed your problem child with THREE negatives in a row.
Go for it: NPB warning, FVF request and then a NEG for all 17. Yes, it's gonna look wierd, but a calm "bid, won, stalled for time, never paid" negative, repeated SEVENTEEN TIMES will definitely make your point. And leave a solid block of RED on her FB page.
I doubt she will do anything, but if she does, just repeat the "bid, won, stalled for time, never paid" in one reply to her negative.
