I just ordered from them yesterday and you were right, my shipping was almost $50! That is a little less than the total of my order. I made sure to only order toys that were 75% off to help offset that outrageous shipping.

Their best deals are on small, heavily-discounted items, like radio controlled cars. Shipping is high-to-outrageous, but on a big enough discount, the net may be ok. Just check the shipping before you get too excited about a "bargain".

The 75% off sale just about brings their prices down to the daily retail pricing of Toys 'R Us.....Interesting...right? I don't think you are getting any deals there.

I got a jamcam 3.0 digital camera for $20 (shipped). Try finding it at toys r us (or anywhere else for that matter) for even 4 times that amount.
There are good deals there, you just had to pick and choose.

I just checked out Etoys 75% off sale and their prices are outrageous. I picked up a jamcam locally for less than $20!

was that a jamcam 3.0??? Which retails for $99 most places?
Or the cheapo Jamcam Jr., which you can get a lot of times for nearly nothing?
By the way, if it was the jamcam 3.0, please let me know where it is, I'll buy as many as they will sell me, and I'll resell them on ebay for $50 each!
Some examples from etoys (picked randomly from the first page of their web site:
(first price is etoys, second is toysrus/amazon web site)
easy bake oven $9 $20
leapfrog phonics bus $14 $25
potato head says $12 $15
strum barney $14 $40
Shipping is more at etoys, but even so, its clear that there are some reasonable deals.
There's nothing like a few facts to help make the right answer clear!

yes, thanks. The jamcam 2.0 is the older model (of course), it had a few less features. Most importantly it didn't have a USB connector, which is MUCH better.
So that explains why you found one for $20. That's about right for a clearance of an older model that isn't being sold anymore.
But that's why getting a 3.0 for $20 shipped at etoys was defintely a good, if not great, deal.
I think i'll check around my CC for one too, by the way. Its still a good deal. I never noticed them carrying that line of product.
But hopefully you can also agree that, based on the randomly-chosen examples I've shown (and I'm sure there are even more good deals), its not correct to blanketly say that etoy's prices were "outrageous"...unless, of course, you now want to say that toysrus/amazons' prices are "really really outrageous"

ETOYS is the only place I can buy extra parts for my son's "Thomas the Train" set. He has the blue, medium size set, and etoys is the only merchant that has extra track, engines, curves, etc. . . I'll be very sad if they go out of business, because I don't know where else I'll be able to purchase extra parts.

jamcams are gone, gone, gone, sad to say. Sold out VERY quickly - the silver sold at $15, the blue at $24. Simply amazing prices, since shipping was reasonable for these items.
I'm kicking myself for not ordered a couple extra as presents. Oh well.

I found a lot of things at great prices, and put an order together, but when I went to put it through, the shipping was over $21! No Way! I'm better off at Toys R Us! No wonder they're going under with their shipping charges. I ordered from them about a year ago and the shipping was very reasonable. What happened??
