We may see a movie called , "The Great Imposter". I don't think history will be kind to Dubya but he got there and he didn't care how and he now sits in the office.

To tell you the truth dejavu, I've lived enough to equal five very full lives, and this, as you term it, new WHOLE LIFE may turn out to be the most rewarding of all if only because it pisses you off.
posted on January 1, 2001 09:25:59 AM new I have this vision of an empty football stadium except for a hardcore fan still shouting for an official to reverse a ruling. The rest of the fans have long since gone to their cars, gone home, and gone on with their lives.
Fan"HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS, HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS, HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS!!!"
Guard"Sir, you'll have to leave now, we need to lock up the gates."
Fan"HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS, HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS, HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS!!!"
Guard"Sir, the game is over, you'll have to leave now."
Fan"HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS, HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS, HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS!!!"
Guard"Sir, the referees are in the parking lot looking for help on reversing their decision."

Ken: All BS aside, I AM very appreciative of all the "digging" you do and the information that you bring to us here.
I don't surf the web much, I just go exactly where I'm headed, and your informative posts help a lot of us here to keep site of the "real" goings on.

Hi krs, thanks for your threads.
I don't agree with all of them as I have just stated in another thread or have time to read them all, but maybe they will keep a few citizens thinking. They certainly do get me going!
I do think it is time that someone piss people off in this country. We are getting trampled on by big business. No matter what the topic --politics, food, drugs, health care, environment, roads, schools, sports--you can see their unhandiwork behind it.
Thanks. LabRat4GMOS

Hey Ken,
Perhaps I am beyond even your considerable powers of reason, but could you tell me why this is important? I've become almost staunchly apolitical and find it difficult to see the import. Seems like the difference between Yellow and Checker cabs, to me, and I'd rather walk
Do you believe the citizens are impacted one way or another? If the populace thought so, seems like more would vote. Of course, you could believe in government for the masses by the enlightened. I respect your intellect and am genuinely interested in a reply.

uaru - that stadium is no where near empty. Maybe you never even came to game. The game is now in overtime and we should be fighting harder then ever to win it or at least know the honest score.

It's not the person or persons elected nearly so much as the methods used that are important. This election is a farce and the precedence it may set does not portend good things in the future. They all do what works, and learn from the past, and each practice initiated lessens the probability of really competent and visionary people even seeking office. Under the circumstances even as they are now what incentive is left for people of real vision and dedication to the good of the country can overcome the personally demeaning and morally reprehensible methods which will be used to keep them from office? The pay isn't great and the trouble is. An election like this one is outrageous in that it will further limit the choices available to all of us. If it had been honestly won, either way, I wouldn't be posting this stuff.

Hello Krs,
I believe that this past election will serve as a precedent to ensure that future elections are much better conducted.
The Atlanta Journal & Constitution ran a front page article this morning in which Andrew Young called for a re-thinking of priorities here in Georgia. He asked that the folks fighting for the removal of the Stars and Bars from the Georgia State flag to put this contentious issue aside and to work for far more important issues.
Specifically, election reform in the state so that what appears to have happned in Florida will not happen here in Georgia.
I respect Young for his moderate and forward looking philosophy. As such, he is the type of person who I feel I can support politically.

When the coach runs across the field to shake the other coach's hand that's a good sign that the game is over. If you decide to sit and wait for the official scoreboard to change you'll find it a VERY long wait.

.....exhibiting the very same mentality that is defined in the other thread I started this morning, uaru; is there some sort of dogma tape that you buy, with updates?
Here's one for you that I heard recently:
"When abortion is outlawed, only outlaws will have abortions"

Why don't you holster your label gun for a bit krs. As far as my views on abortions I don't make anyone's choice for them. When I fill out my United Way pledge I specify that all my donations go to "Planned Parenthood".

Thanks for the information too Ken. Have you heard anything about the March on innagural Day? I heard they had 750,000 people.
I still feel as strongly today,as I did when this was playing out. The supreme ct. had no business mixing in on states rights,no matter how bad the recounts were. It should have been changed after the election, not changed to make the outcome to come out in Bush's favor.... The equal rights lame excuse should apply to all.Bush was appointed and not elected. As for as I am concerned end of discussion.

Hi Zelda,
Yes, that number, 750,000, has been out there a while but I haven't seen any direct news concerning it. Guess there's really no way to know until the day.

I left the mall and as I was getting into my car two kids approached me and one of them stuck a gun up to my head demanding my wallet. I gave it to him. I reported the incident to the police.
What do you suggest after that? No, I didn't start carrying a gun. No I didn't stop carrying a wallet. No, I didn't hire a detective to bring the punks to justice. No, I didn't let that keep me from going to the mall. How long was I supposed to be outraged?
its over get over it
Exactly, I moved on from the mugging. I moved on from losing a great job. I moved on from losing the love of my life. I moved on from losing many things. I've never been one to give advice like 'dwell on it' except in the sarcastic terms.

The actual vote count is now of academic interest as it was legally mooted by Bush's Supreme count victory. But the facts will out.
Many Bush supporters wish the facts can be forever suppressed... That will not happen.
Many compare the election to sports contests where bad official calls are usually unchallengable. Elections are a more serious activity (incomprehensible as that may seem to those who consider spectator sports the most important activity in the world). Selection of our president by suppression of votes rather than by counting them constitutes a serious stain.
Whether or not Bush will prove an effective President he has already totally failed his promise to bring dignity and respect to the office.
Judge Thomas is reported to have told a high school class that political leanings did not figure in the court's election decision. Having been born before yesterday, the students didn't believe him. To the 5 majority judges : no one ever will.
So am I to beleive that when you are in the mall parking lot NOW, and you see two men approaching you, that you DO NOT feel fear?
If so, please tell me how to do that.
I had a gun put to my head at a red light in Newark 15 years ago, and to this day, whenever I am stopped at a light in the city, I look around with that in my mind.
It NEVER leaves you. NEVER.
That's how I feel about this decimation of the American Constitution.
What was permitted to happen, will NEVER leave me, and I will NOT be able to EVER trust my government again.
The Bush reich and the Bush/Reagan appointed supreme court wiped their asses with the Constitution, and Democrats AND Republicans alike should feel sorrow for that act.
We are now going to be represented by a man that orchestrated the downfall of democracy and justice in our country.

Becoming pro-Democratic only since the "election," I speak from a long background of mainly disinterest in anything political.
That's now changed, obviously. My disinterest has been replaced by incredulity, and, if I'm honest about it, fear.
What I'm incredulous about is that this country, that I've naively thought was THE bastion of democratic process in the world, was so vulnerable to the manipulations of a few single-minded individuals. One could compose the list of key players on a short piece of paper. How could the actions of this small band have managed to short-circuit the very heart of our democratic process -- in broad daylight, under the scrutiny of most of our citizens, and the world? I still don't believe it.
The import of GW's incompetencies pale in comparison to what his handlers have accomplished. I've no doubt they've toasted themselves to oblivion since their "victory." But do they realize what they've really done?
I can't be in DC for the inauguration, but if there's a local protest planned, I intend to be there.
