Being as several of you want a "kinder, gentler" thread, and after several of us have probably done permanent damage to our gastrointestinal tracts and bodies the past few weeks, what is your FAVORITE dessert?

My own is NY-style cheesecake.

Bon appetite!

Hot peach cobbler! With a scoop of vanilla ice cream of course!

Not paranoid anywhere else but here!

Yes, Yes,

NY-style cheesecake...

NY-style pizza (I'll eat as a main dish, breakfast or dessert).

NY Deli Sandwiches, Pastromi on Rye with horseraddish. OK it's not a dessert, but the NY Cheesecake afterwards is...

Barry (chocolate pudding is also a favorite) Barris

This is a hard one.

I had some pumpkin cheesecake that was to die for in a local deli lately, but I have to say anything with caramel in it especially candy apples.

Chocolate! But I can't eat it, so Carob Crunch. (It's not the same)

Apple pie ala mode. Yum!!

A box (yes, a whole box) of Russell Stover's chocolate covered caramels runs a close second. (With apologies to Snowyegret for the torture. )

Tiramisu, because it combines coffee, chocolate, cheese (mascarpone) AND whipped cream. Dense, but not so heavy as a flourless chocolate cake; rich, but not so rich as cheesecake; sweet but not cloying, and perfect with espresso. Sigh.

My favorite is flan or creme caramel. But I'll never turn down a piece of cheesecake either. Tegan, my sister bought a good pumpkin cheesecake at Costco.

Any dessert that combines German chocolate cake, cheesecake, Italian creme cake, fudge, and MacDonald's new yogurt and fruit cup.

What would you call that-pig's delite?

There is a restaurant in town that makes this KILLER desert. APPLEBEE'S. What they make is this rolled cheesecake (sometimes strawberry, sometimes apples), then they deep fry it so its hot, and drizzle caramel all over it, along with vanilla icecream, garnished with tiny diced nuts. Oh man...that is SOOOO GOOD!

Cheesecake comes really close...

but my very favorite is some "cherry stuff" from a recipe on the Jiffy cake boxes. You put a layer of cherry pie filling under a layer of cake mix mixed with butter and bake it in the oven. Hubby says it's too sweet, but I love it!

There is no way I can pick a favorite. The list includes (but is not limited to): NY Cheesecake w/blueberries sauce on top, lemon meringue pie, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, fruitcake (the good stuff with more fruit than cake), almost any flavor of ice cream, and Italian pastries from Little Italy.

I think I gained 5 pounds just typing this list.

There is this restaurant on the Outer Banks in North Carolina called "The Colington Cafe". Every single item they make is delicious especially the desserts. My favorite is a coconut cream pie with a layer of frozen fudge between the crust and the coconut cream. It is to die for!!!!!!!

hummm that depends on the time of year.

Winter - German Chocolate Cake
Spring - Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
Summer - Strawberry Shortcake
Fall - Fresh apple pie,

In between butter pecan Ice Cream.

Although this Christmas I was introduced to Boiled Custard. Extremely rich but very tasty especially when mixed with VSOP Cognac.
