I saw this group mentioned on another thread, and saw it compared to Mannheim Steamroller does heavy metal. This got my curiosity up (big devotee of the Steamroller).
Which of the Siberian's albums are considered best? Too, are these albums instrumental only or do they include vocals? The Beethoven intrigues me too, being a big fan of Ludwig Van.
I have Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Christmas Eve and Other Stories".
Bought it several years ago, but I have seen it still available in the music stores this year. It is instrumental and vocal.
I really enjoy it; however, I cannot compare it with Manheim Steamroller, as I don't have any of their music and their sound escapes me at the moment.
If you like Luther Vandross, I really recommend his "This is Christmas". It is so good. But then, Luther doesn't do bad.
Hard to find, though, in my local music stores. After I played it, I tried to find one for a birthday gift, but was not successful.

Ah, yes, music.
For starters you might try a search on Amazon.com, as the albums are rated by real fans or owners of the albums, and albums are accompanied by reviews written by regular people. These, with the rating system can be very helpful.
Then there is the wild and wooly internet to search. Allmusic.com has a pretty inexhaustible archive of bands, as obscure as they get. Try a search there.

Hi,
I have TSO's "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" and "The Christmas Attic" as well as almost all of Manheim Steamrollers Christmas CD's.
Christmas Eve is the better of TSO's albums, especially the song "Mad Russians Christmas". I thought Steamroller was the best (and I still rotate their music in), but TSO really works for me now.
TSO and Mario Lanza on Christmas morning while we open presents.
Then Bob Rivers for fun.

Have any of you heard the group called Barrage? My daughter saw them on a special on PBS, and she loves them. They have a Celtic sound which I like, and she likes the way they choreograph their moves with the music they are playing. They play violins, flutes, you name it. It's very cool.
That was my thread! They are GREAT - I love all of their songs! The best place to go if you're not sure of what you like is NAPSTER. You can download it for free (for the time being - they're going to start charging sometime soon)(no date yet)
They've got both instrumental and vocals - my favorite is still the first one I ever heard - "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12-24)".
victoria: Bob Rivers is HILARIOUS! My fav is still "Holy sh!t it's Christmas"!
