I swear I really do remember this movie from a l-o-n-g time ago but can't remember the name of it or who's in it. About all I can remember is that it's about this married couple who don't have a lot of money to spend for each other on Christmas. The woman has VERY long hair and decides to have a bunch of it cut off so she can sell it and then buy her husband a gold chain for his pocket watch. Well, why she's doing that her husband sells his pocket watch so he can buy his wife this really pretty clip that she had wanted for her hair. Does anyone remember this one??

I believe it was from an O. Henry story. For some reason I'm thinking it was called "The Gift" (or The Gift of the Magi).?? But I could be wrong.

Hi, guys. The O'Henry story with that exact plot was called "The Gift of the Magi." I don't know if the movie had the same title and never saw it. Used to teach 8th grade English and that story was In The Book!

The name of the movie was "O. Henry's Full House". There were 5 stories by O. Henry in the movie, "The Cop and the Anthem", "Clarion Call", "The Last Leaf", "The Ransom of the Red Chief", and "Gift of the Magi".

bobbie355 - Just wanted to be sure that you noticed on the URL given here for the original movie, that this movie will be on the AMC channel on 12-25 sometime in the morning. I checked (gist.com), using my zip code and it's on from 8:00 - 10:00 AM here. (Not sure what time zone you're in.) We might just get a chance to tape it.
When I first watched it, oh so many years ago, I found it to be a very touching movie.
