Does anyone know anything about this? I keep getting an email and it just says it's FROM: 917363840 and it has an attachment named SEICHO-NO-IC.EXE. I have not opened the attachment. I've gotten this email about 10 times now and I keep deleting it. Do ya think it's a virus?

mybiddness - yes, I remember reading about that virus that you had in your email. Jeesh!! How do these weirdos get pleasure out of ruining someone's computer!! I remember one of them I got the attachment was named as some kind of screen saver. Luckily I haven't opened any of them. But it's kinda weird, because this person keeps on sending this email - can this person know that I don't open the attachment and delete the email I wonder?? So that's why he keeps sending it back?
Irene - I went to that website .... Weird! Maybe they're trying to convert me or something!!

bobbi355 Do not open that attachment. This morning I received an email from a bidder that had the MTX virus. The same bidder sent me a second email with SEICHO-NO-IC.EXE attached. thank goodness I keep my virus software up to date. Didn't get me !!

IT is a second part of the MTX virus :
The worm also intercepts e-mail messages that are sent and attempts to send a duplicate message with the infected attachment to the same address (the same as "Happy99/Ska" worm does). As a result, victim address should receive two messages: first is the original message written by the sender, second is a message with empty subject and text and attached file that has one of the names that are selected by worm depending on current date:

I'm a peace loving person but if I could get my hands around the neck of the person that invented the MTX virus I'd go to hell for murder! What kind of a sick nut comes up with that kind of nonsense? I wonder if there is a way you can track who is sending that to you. Seems odd to me that they keep re-sending it. I'll leave that mystery to some of the computer literates around here... thankfully we have lots of them.

The senders do not know they have it. I've emailed this bidder FOUR times warning him, no reply yet. I wonder how much email he/her send?

BTW bobbi355 If you are getting this email you probably already have a MTX virus on your machine, as the SEICHO-NO-IC.EXE, is the second part.

hardoutfit - GREAT!!! I remember some of those names of screensavers that you listed -I never did open the attachment though. Do you think I could still have the virus? If I went to that Trend Housecall Virus website and ran that virus check I wonder if it would pick it up. This makes me so mad I could just scream!!!! Pretty bad when all these psychos have to do with their time is invent something to ruin someone's computer. I've noticed a few strange things like when I click on "start" and then say "favorites" it takes about 30 sec. to actually open op. And when I open a pic that I have in "my documents" it takes about 30 sec. to open it up and the same amount of time to close it. It's like it just stalls. Wow......Merry Christmas - My computer's probably ruined.

Go to this link, if you can get through you DO NOT HAVE the MTX, as the MTX blocks an infected computer from getting to anti virus sites.
